    Restart the printer and computer: Restarting the computer and printer may clear the error conditions.

    Manually connect the printer to the network: Many HP printers have a wireless setup wizard available through the network or wireless setup menus on the printer control panel. Follow the instructions on the screen to connect the printer to the network.

    Check your router’s bandwidth setting: many routers can operate in both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz bands, but not all HP printers support both bands. Make sure your router is on the 2.4 GHz band and is transmitting in that band. If the router broadcasts a different network name (SSID) for each band, connect the printer to the SSID corresponding to the 2.4 GHz band.

    Check your firewall settings: A firewall may be blocking the printer from accessing the computer. Agree to any firewall warnings that appear when downloading and installing the printer software. You can also customize the software to allow HP downloads and installations.

    Check for obstructions between the printer and the router: Remove any metal objects between the printer and the computer or access point (router). Items such as metal cabinets or refrigerators can interfere with the wireless signal transmission.

    Check for other devices that emit radio frequency or wireless signals: Move any devices that emit radio signals, such as microwave ovens or cordless phones, away from the printer.

    Set the IP address on the printer: Your printer can ignore the auto-assigned IP address via DHCP and use any valid IP address you choose. Use the menu on the control panel to enter an IP address that is valid for use on the LAN.

    Checking the printer

    First of all, we advise you to check the display and configuration of the hardware in the “Devices and Printers” menu. You need to do just a few things:
