How To Clean The Epson Printer Head

How to clean the printhead of a printer 2 basic technologies

One of the significant disadvantages of any inkjet printer (regardless of model and manufacturer) is the high cost of consumables. In addition, some cartridges require regular refills, which inevitably cause gradual clogging of the head nozzles. Therefore, the question “how to clean the printer?” occurs quite often.
With prolonged downtime of the technique, ink residues dry out and to restore the printer’s operation, rinsing of the printheads is required. In this case, it is worth considering the fact that independent work leads to the removal of equipment from warranty service. The best option in this situation is to contact the specialists at the service center. If, for some reason, this option is not suitable. tips for self-cleaning can be found in this article.

Printhead cleaning program

Most often, the need for such a procedure as cleaning the printer nozzles arises in several cases. This is:
1.A violation of the volume of the supplied ink, which manifests itself in printing defects (as a result, stripes are formed, the color is transmitted incorrectly, the images are smeared)
2. Long-term downtime, leading to solidification of ink toner residues on the nozzle walls;
3.Change of ink, requiring the removal of residues of the previously used composition (inks from different manufacturers differ in composition and characteristics, it is forbidden to mix them).

Manufacturers provide for the possibility of using a regular cleaning program, which, in addition to cleaning the printer cartridges, tests the system. In order to start it, you can use the menu of the computer or the printer itself.

Important! It is recommended to carry out NOT more than 3 such cleaning. If this does not give the desired effect, then manual mechanical cleaning will be required.

After the program is executed, you need to retest the nozzles. The resulting print on paper will allow you to decide whether more intense exposure is required to remove blockages. As practice shows, cleaning software allows you to completely remove only light dirt.

Manual cleaning of steam generator

Before deciding how to clean the printer nozzles, it is worth considering that you should not go to extreme measures immediately after the lack of the desired effect for the first time. There are situations when, after a couple of days of using the device, clogged nozzles are still cleared. If the problem is not resolved, an alternative option would be the following actions, described in the table.

Cleaning the printhead cartridge

There are two ways to clean a cold and hot print cartridge. In the first case, it is necessary to use a number of devices. Intended use:

  • Disposable syringe;
  • Napkins (paper and cotton towels work well)
  • Dosing vessel (you can use a pipette)
  • Special protection for hands (usually, medical gloves are used)
  • Detergents for washing glasses (it must necessarily contain alcohols with ethylene glycol).

The technology consists in pouring a few drops of water into the cartridge located on the napkin with a pipette. After 10 minutes, the parts must be blotted with a paper towel and the rest of the composition must be wiped off so that there are NO drops and stains on the surface. Reuse is possible only after complete drying.

There is also the so-called. “Hot” way of flushing the printer cartridge or all-in-one printer. In this case, hot water serves as the cleaning liquid. During the removal of dirt, it will need to be changed several times so that it does not cool down. The cartridge must be soaked in water until the water is clear. You can also add glass cleaner to it (in a 1: 1 ratio). After that, you need to remove all moisture from the surface of the cartridge and blow it with air. Excessive pressure is provided by using a syringe with the plunger pulled back to the stop. This allows you to easily remove the remaining toner from the system.

In order to correctly determine the answer to the question of how to flush the printer nozzles, it is worth taking into account the peculiarities of the ink used and the manufacturer’s recommendations for this model of the device. The readiness of the head for work can be judged by the absence of ink prints after wiping with a napkin. But it should be borne in mind that none of the proposed alternatives can guarantee one hundred percent result. In each case, the approach is individual.

How to clean the Epson printer head?

Epson printers get clogged quite often and this is a fact. over, the prerequisite for such a problem can be a wide variety of factors: air bubbles, paper dust and some other reasons.

Most often, a prerequisite for the occurrence of some problems during printing becomes too long idle time of the printer without using it in work. This usually applies to home printers, since in office conditions this technique is still used much more often.

After a long break, be sure to make sure that the Printhead of your printer is working normally. This can be done in a simple way. Use a nozzle pattern. In order to display this template, you need to run the standard driver of your printer by pressing certain buttons located on the body of the printer itself. On a specific printer model, this button may be located in its place, so use the instructions to find it.

How to clean the head of an Epson printer?

Cleans (that is, through the standard cleaning function) for a long time. Three, four, but five times is already the limit. Further, unwanted temperature processes will begin to occur in the head, and then you will definitely have to set the printer aside for a week.

Pay attention to a few things when cleaning.
The entire route of the printhead must be kept clean.

The paralon should NOT bulge, and, of course, there should not be any debris. The photo shows just a sample of a rather dirty printer, and of course the percentage of blockages in it is higher. It is recommended to arrange the discharge of waste ink outside, and not into the internal diaper.

Cleaning procedure. choosing tools

To work we need the following:

  • A piece of thin plastic.
  • Microfiber fabric.
  • Second glue.
  • Alcohol-based glass cleaner.
  • The printer itself.

We turn on the printer as soon as the print head moves to the center, disconnect the printer from the network. We move the print head so that it does not interfere with us, and we measure the size of the diaper.

Cut off a piece of soft plastic (I took plastic from processed cheese) a little larger than the size of a diaper. This is to prevent ink from getting inside the printer.

Apply Quick Dry or Secondary Glue to the edges of the plastic, and wrap the microfiber edges on the back of the plastic.

We spray the detergent onto the microfiber with plastic, it is necessary that the fabric is well saturated. After that we put the soaked cloth with plastic on the diaper of the Epson printer. Holding the plastic, we pass the print head left and right several times, and leave it on the microfiber to bake off for 6-8 hours.

After that, we remove the microfiber and you can connect the printer.

How to clean the nozzles of an Epson printer. the way for the most difficult cases

This method is also intended for “severe cases”. If your printer completely refuses to print, that is, the head nozzles are tightly blocked by the clogging plug, then use this method.

  • Remove the printhead.
  • It is necessary to find a small box, rinse it with distilled water and fill in the Reanimator liquid so that the height of the liquid column in the box is

3-4 mm, then put the print head there with the nozzles down. It is also necessary to put cotton wool, abundantly moistened with the flushing liquid, on the upper fittings of the head. To prevent the liquid from evaporating, we put all this in a bag or wrap it with food cellophane and leave it for 5-6 days.

  • We put the head in place.
  • We insert cartridges with resuscitation fluid. Using the control panel or driver, we do 4-5 cleanings. I turn off the printer and leave it for a day, to normalize the pressure in the ink channels by printheads.
  • Insert cartridges and work.
  • How to clean the Epson printer head using the system method?

If you notice a deterioration in the operation of the printer, for example, the print quality has dropped, documents began to strip, there is no color when printing, then you need to start head cleaning.

In the Start menu, select the printers section, select the device and go to the print settings. Open the “Service” tab, find the option “Printhead cleaning. If you are using an all-in-one printer, then on the touch panel of the device, select the menu “Settings, then” Maintenance and “Head cleaning, press” Start. Delay printing a test document for 30 minutes.

Remember that this method cannot be used on a permanent basis. It is relevant only for the first time after purchasing a new printer.

How to clean the print head of an Epson printer?

Epson inkjet printers are beneficial for many reasons. They are inexpensive compared to their laser counterparts. But they provide good quality for different types of printing. However, there is a weak point in the printing device: the print head can simply clog. In this case, you should know how the cleaning of the Epson l800, l222, l366, l355, l132, l200, l805, l550 printheads occurs.

The main pollution and methods of their elimination

Even with the right conditions for using an Epson printer, you cannot think that all the elements will work perfectly. If the use of consumables cannot be completely controlled, most often, equipment malfunctions occur. Printer head clogging occurs when:

    • Dried ink for the Epson printer in the print head;
    • Clogged special ink supply channels;
    • The ink supply level for printing has risen;
    • The ink supply system is out of order.

To solve problems with a clogged head, printer manufacturers have come up with a special utility to monitor its operation. Usually it helps to get rid of the problems of printing flaws. There are two options for cleaning the Epson printer head: software and manual.

How to clean the head of an Epson printer programmatically?

Epson head cleaning is performed, if necessary, at a certain frequency for flushing comments. Better to use methods that DO NOT ask for printer parsing. So you can extend the period of his service. The easiest way is software. To execute it, go to the menu and enter “Devices and Printers”. There you should find the brand of the printer and click on the menu item “Properties”.

Then, using the “Service” item, you need to select “head cleaning” and press the right mouse button to start the program. When Epson printhead cleaning is finished, a test pattern is printed. If everything goes well with printing, the process is considered complete. If necessary, the cleaning procedure must be carried out again.

If the hardware cleaning of your Epson printer is NOT successful, you will need to manually clean it. When doing this, make sure that the problem lies in the head of the device. Visually inspect for accumulation of dust, ink and paper scraps. If this is not the problem, then each element of the printer head should be checked.

How to manually clean the Epson printer head?

Epson printer head cleaning can be done manually. To do this, you should perform the following steps:

    • Turn off the printing device using start and wait until the green indicator lights up.
    • Next, the printer is loaded with paper for printing.
    • Command is given to the printing device to clean the printheads.
    • The quality of the test sheets is checked.
    • Will start cleaning.
    • After the light stop morgue, the printer will turn off.

If the printer prompts you to do a test, you do not need to refuse it. After all, the first cleaning procedure for the Epson head may not give the desired result and will have to be repeated.

How to flush the Epson print head

After the required time has elapsed, you need to remove the disks and start the software cleaning process. The process is carried out only when the device is turned off. If you have to remove the cartridges, you need to put them in place as quickly as possible. This is due to the ingress of air into them, which contributes to the drying of the printer ink.

The use of liquid to flush the cartridge is particularly challenging. The main thing is to choose the right one for the type of printer ink. In difficult cases, you should clean the print head through a regular cleaner, and print high-resolution color prints. You can also dilute the ink with flushing liquid if you need to leave the printer idle for a long period.

READ  Printer Scans But Does Not Print From The Computer

If you do not know what ink was used for printing, do not rush to flush the Epson printer head. An incorrectly selected composition can quickly disable a part.

Take paints and dissolve them in different formulations. Check the total in a few hours. When the pigment ink is exposed to purified water, sediment appears. The liquid turning to jelly also indicates that it was chosen incorrectly. The required solution dilutes the ink for the cartridge well.

Epson printer head cleaning can be done in different ways. This can be manual cleaning, software cleaning, or cleaning the head with service fluids. It is important to choose the correct composition of the liquid.

How to clean dirt and ink from an Epson printer

A simple printer sometimes causes unpleasant consequences in the form of fuzzy printing, dried ink. The signal that it is time to clean the printer are stripes during printing, black blotches in text or photos. Unfortunately, the printer from Epson is the most sensitive when idle

    Cleaning your Epson L110

To clean the nozzle you will need:

    • A strip of plastic;
    • A piece of microfiber;
    • Glue “Moment”;
    • Window cleaner with alcohol.

    Cleaning your Epson L110

It is not difficult to clean nozzles in an Epson printer, the main thing is the accuracy of the process. The following is a step-by-step cleaning instruction.

    • Connect the printer to the network and wait until the head moves to the center. Disconnect from the socket. Then push back the head and measure the parameters of the diaper.
    • Cut a piece of plastic slightly larger than a diaper.
    • Cut the microfiber in the same way, cutting off the corners. You should get an octagon.
    • Apply glue around the edges of the plastic and wrap on the back of the fabric edge.
    • Spray the cleaning spray onto the finished fixture and allow time to soak. Further, to clean the diaper of the Epson printer, you need to put the soaked microfiber on it. While supporting the plastic, slide the print head in different directions several times. Leave it on the fabric for 6-8 hours.

After this time has elapsed, remove the cloth and connect the printer. Try to print the document programmatically. It’s so easy to clean the Epson L110 printer from dried ink.

    Cleaning for L800

The Epson L800 printer can become clogged after a couple of weeks of non-use. And if after the standard cleaning method there are no results, then you need to use deep cleaning.

    Cleaning the Printer with Utility

To do this, in the print settings option, select the item “Cleaning the printheads” and the sub-item “enhanced cleaning”. For best results, you can use the option twice. The disadvantage of such cleaning is the high consumption of ink. That is why it is not recommended to clean the Epson L800 unnecessarily.

    Cleaning the L210 and Stylus

This method is universal and suitable for all types of printers. How to clean your Epson device correctly and efficiently.

If the printer starts to print in stripes, then the problem is with the print head. It is clogged or has dried paint. First you need to use the standard cleaning, which is offered in the printer settings. This is done by analogy with the L800. After completing the cleaning, you need to print a letter with a test image. If the flaws disappeared, then the problem is solved.

    Cleaning the L210 and Stylus

You can also use this testing method:

    • Type strips in any computer program to the size of A4 sheet and print.
    • Clean and repeat the nozzle test, compare them. If the images in the first and second cases match, then the printer has cleared itself and is ready for further use.

You can clean your Epson Stylus or L210 printer automatically or manually. The Sandwich method is used for effective cleaning. The point is soaking the elements and chemicals. They are meant for cleaning windows and mirrors. Remove the cartridges before cleaning. Further, the method is similar to cleaning the Epson L110 printer. Below you can watch a video on cleaning recommendations.

In addition to cleaning the Epson L210 printer, you need to pump ink, since a printing problem may be caused by air entering the machine.

    House cleaning

It will be more convenient and faster to clean the printer at home, without the cost of a wizard or a service center. It is not difficult to carry out such cleaning, the main thing is to stock up on all the necessary tools. In order to clean the Epson printer you will need a flushing kit and Color-print RED-BLOOD liquid, which is designed for THESE purposes.

To clean the Epson printhead correctly, do the following:

    • Preparation of flushing fluid. Add the contents of the syringe to the liquid and shake. When the solution becomes pinkish, you can start cleaning.
    • The set contains refillable cartridges, which need to be filled with a special liquid.
    • Install CISS and make 3 cleanings, leave for several hours. Next, you need to conduct a control test and, if necessary, repeat the manipulations.

With this kit, you can preserve printers Epson Stylus, L210 and the second. When using special tools, the print head will NOT dry out during periods of inactivity.

    Epilogue

The article was considered an important question on how to clean the print head, nozzles and pampers in Epson printers.

Summing up, several aspects can be distinguished:

    • Initially, the cleaning should be started with the help of Special utilities on the computer. In order to find them, you need to select the start menu and then follow the instructions.
    • Manual cleaning should be done carefully so as not to damage the diaper and the head itself. Chemical treatment can be done with rinsing kits or window cleaner.
    • The cleaning principle of each printer is similar. Following the recommendations of the video tutorials, you can clean yourself at home.

If all methods have already been tried, and there is a result, you need to contact the service center or replace the printer.

How to clean the printhead nozzles (nozzles). Effective ways for printers Epson, HP, Canon and others

Sooner or later, the printer may start to print poorly, for example, a stack of paper, leave black or white streaks, and color irregularities will be noticeable. This is often due to the mayor’s lack of prevention with intense, frequent typing. The elements of the apparatus can become clogged, and if we are talking about an inkjet printer, the cartridges of which are filled with liquid ink, then the latter are prone to drying out, both in the cartridge itself and on the part through which ink enters the letter paper. the print head.

This element, depending on the brand and model of the printer, can be built into the cartridge (non-removable) and vice versa. In both cases, you can restore the work of the part, cleaned it well with one of the proposed methods below.

    When cleaning is needed

    • When you run the nozzle test, part of the image is skipped on the sheet, white streaks are visible during printing, colors are not reproduced correctly, or one of them is missing. These signs of clogging occur with very heavy use of the printer.
    • The printer did NOT print documents for a long time. Water-based liquid ink can dry out. In different models, the drying time of the paint varies from several days to a month. If the machine has been idle for a long time, has inkjet printing technology, and after switching on the printing has deteriorated significantly or blank sheets come out altogether, it is likely that the Printhead has dried completely.

The resort to cleaning the steam generator is necessary as a last resort, since a prerequisite for a decrease in print quality can be Not only its clogging, but also:

    • Airlock;
    • Incorrect head position;
    • Excessive pressure caused by installing the CISS above the head level;
    • Failure of piezoelectric crystals due to printer overload (Epson)
    • Overheating of the heating element (HC).

    Software cleaning

Flushing software is offered by every manufacturer of printing technicians. The program is installed on the computer during connection and printer setup automatically or from the installation disc.

Before more complex physical cleaning, do the program according to the scheme below.

Go to “Start”. “Control Panel”. “Hardware and Sound”. “Devices and Printers”. Or immediately gets into the desired window: start the Run window and write the command “control printers”, press “Enter” or “Ok”.

For the Epson brand, you can install the PrintHelp utility, which also has this functionality.

Keep in mind that the software method consumes ink, which could be enough to print 3-5 A4 sheets. After cleaning, the printer should remain at rest for 2-5 hours.

If after 3-4 cleanings the print quality does not improve, the head needs to be washed manually.

    Manual head cleaning

Prepare your workplace first. A simple desk is ideal. To prevent it from getting dirty, cover the surface with old newspapers or paper in several layers.

    What you need to clean

    • Latex gloves.
    • Conventional medical syringe with a needle.
    • A flat container that can then be discarded. For example, a photo tray, a low-sided plastic box, or a saucer.
    • Sponges or lint-free wipes.
    • Small diameter plastic tubing suitable for droppers.
    • Scissors to cut the tubes to the desired length.
    • Elastic band for removing stubborn dirt, which cannot be removed by soaking.

    All about flushing fluids

For cleaning from water-soluble ink, apply:

To flush nozzles contaminated with pigment dyes, use either a specially designed solvent or isopropyl alcohol.

Cleaners from the WWM company are popular:

    • W01. demineralized water;
    • CL-04. liquid for cleaning the upper parts of the printer from aqueous ink;
    • CL-06. means for removing traces of black and colored pigment paint;
    • CL-08. special liquid for washing and soaking;
    • CL-10. Power Cleaner.

A common window cleaner is cheap. At home, “Mister Muscle” is often used.

It is important to pay attention to its color when choosing a detergent.

    • Green and pink. Suitable for removing water-based ink as it contains ammonia.
    • Blue and orange (with isopropyl alcohol). Used to remove pigment ink marks.

Before washing, the cleaner must be heated to t = 40.60 ° C to enhance the effect of the solution.

    Flushing the nozzle

    • The printer turns off when the carriage with the cartridge is in the center.
    • The cartridge is removed, the device cover is removed and the ribbon cable is disconnected.
    • To detach the head, the latches are pressed.
    • Turning the head upside down with the nozzles, carefully remove dirt with a sponge soaked in the cleaning liquid.
    • Place the head in a Prepared container, at the bottom of which there is gauze or sponge soaked in Cleaner.
    • We remove all dirt from the intake grate with a gauze swab.
    • Remove the rubber bands from the inkwell, rinse them and wipe the places where they were.
    • Choose a syringe for flushing the printheads so that it fits snugly but easily over the fittings. Hoses and tubes of different diameters can be used as an adapter.
    • We collect the prepared cleaner into the syringe.
    • Letting out the air.
    • Put the syringe on the fitting.
    • Clean the structure slowly and carefully.
    • Make sure that the liquid flows into the container.
    • When the color of the Cleaner is natural, you can finish the Rinse.
    • Use this scheme to clean each fitting. Then wipe off the entire structure and let dry.

To check the quality of cleaning, place the head on a gauze soaked in the Cleaner for one time. If after an hour the gauze remains clean or there are only weak stains on it, the cleaning is done efficiently. Additionally, you can run 2-3 software cleanings.

    Soaking (dripping)

    • The head fits into a container.
    • A cleaner is drawn into the syringe and a needle is put on.
    • The liquid is dripped onto the fitting in a few drops.
    • The procedure is carried out for several hours, and in case of severe dirt. all day.

You can take plastic tubes from the dropper, cut off pieces of 5-10 cm from them, put them on the fittings and pour a cleaning agent inside, leave them to soak for a while. The liquid can be periodically refilled into the tubes.

To speed up the process, a tool is drawn into the syringe, a tube is put on it, and the whole structure is inserted into the cartridge connector. To clean the nozzles, several Kliner cubes are fed through the tube with a syringe. This is how all the head connectors are cleaned, and then two software cleanings are done.

    Broach

    • Pour the cleaner into the prepared container at the bottom.
    • The empty syringe is tightly put on the fitting.
    • Smoothly draw the cleaning liquid through the head into the syringe (Pull the syringe plunger towards you).

    Ultrasonic bath

The procedure requires additional equipment, for example, a medical device or a device for gentle cleaning of small parts. With an ultrasonic bath, there is a risk that the part will fail and will not be repairable. Those who used this method claim that the head breaks down after a day or immediately upon the first print.

How to clean the mouth guard and knife

The knife (squeegee), which removes excess dye from the surface of nozzles and nozzles in inkjet printers, can be gently wiped off with a lint-free cloth moistened with the Cleaner.

The mouthpiece, which absorbs moisture and prevents rapid drying of ink in the nozzles, requires a complete flushing according to the following algorithm:

    • I unplug the printer.
    • Opening the front cover.
    • Remove all parts blocking access to the knife from the capo.
    • Rub the knife.
    • Putting the cleaning liquid into the syringe.
    • Introduce her into the mouthpiece.
    • Leave alone for a while.
    • I pump out the remnants of the Cleaner back with a syringe.
    • Repeat the procedure several times until the liquid pumped out into the syringe does NOT stop staining with ink.

    Cleaning liquid printing

The method helps to restore the non-removable head that is built into the cartridge. Instead of the dye, a cleaning agent is poured in and cleaning starts. If, when printing with a color printer, defects of only one color appear on the image, then the cleaner should be poured only into the problem compartment. After cleaning, the device cannot be used for two hours. During this time, the cleaning liquid will have time to dissolve the dye dried in the nozzles.

After 2 hours. Open any graphic editor and fill the page with the color, which had problems with cleaning. It is optimal to use Photoshop, because you can use the CMYK color scheme when filling a letter. The resulting fill is printed on a standard sheet, while you must first set the Highest print density. Remains of the Cleaner, mixing with the paint, will leave traces on the paper. If white horizontal streaks appear during printing, the head has not been cleaned sufficiently. When the fill is homogeneous, the blockage in the head is removed.

After flushing, the cartridge is refilled with ink, a software cleaning of the nozzles is done and a color sheet is printed again.

Flushing the head on the cartridge

If the printer has a cartridge with a built-in head, remove the container from the machine, turn the nozzles upward and apply a few drops of the product to them. After 10 minutes, remove the excess cleaner with a napkin and check if the dye passes onto the napkin. If it was not possible to wash the nozzles in this way, they must be soaked in a container with detergents. You need to soak at least 2-3 hours.

After soaking, the entire surface is wiped dry with a napkin, especially the contacts. The cartridge is inserted into the printer and the nozzle check test starts. If the cleaning quality is poor, try blowing the nozzles through the air intake:

    • Cutting the needle from the syringe in half and putting it on the syringe.
    • Wear a soft elastic band on the needles. It will ensure a snug fit of the syringe to the walls of the ink tank.
    • The needle is inserted into the air intake hole of the cartridge, and the elastic band is firmly pressed against the walls.
    • The air from the syringe is gently squeezed inward. There should be a piece of gauze or a napkin under the bottom of the ink tank, onto which ink will flow under pressure.
    • Colored ink tanks with three holes on top are blown in the same way.

    Cleaning for Epson printers

The cleaning technology itself is no different from the instructions above. The only difference is that the head does not need to be removed from the carriage. Then the algorithm will be like this:

    • First, the carriage with cartridges and head will be in the parking position (right);
    • To move the carriage and move it freely by hand, you need to give a print order, and as soon as the carriage leaves the parking lot, turn off the printer
    • Then remove the cartridges.

Then put a clean napkin folded 2-3 times on the tray (a tray with several compartments for collecting waste ink, located in the parking spot), and slide the carriage onto it so that the napkin does NOT wrinkle. According to the condition of the napkin after washing, we will evaluate the cleaning result.

The image shows the carriage with a cover. It must be removed to get access to the head.

Next, we take the syringe, fill it 2/3 with the Cleaner, put it on the fitting and slowly press the syringe plunger.

So it is necessary to clean each channel. The amount of the pumped Cleaner should be approximately 1-2 ml. If the liquid in some channel is more difficult to pass than in others, then the flushing should be repeated until the same effort is needed everywhere.

After flushing each tubule, the condition of the napkin should be checked. Move the carriage back and watch. If the napkin is stained, replace it with a new one. And so on until the napkin does NOT stop staining, and only a transparent cleaner comes out.

When the cleaning is completely done, remove the napkin, insert the cartridges into the carriage, and place it in the parking lot. Turning on the printer, do the cleaning through software (software) or through the menu of the device.

If the head is bolted or screwed to the carriage, it can be detached and cleaned outside the printer. Then first you need to remove the board with all the loops, and then get the PG. The part is washed in the same way, only in some container.

Need to remove the head? See vide.

    Complete disassembly of the head

You can disassemble the head on your own only if you have experience. It is better to entrust the work to specialists of a certified service center. Will help in disassembling the video below.

    Prevention

It is recommended that you regularly check the entire printer and clean the head at the same time as a preventive measure. Make sure that no dust or dirt accumulates in the devices, there is no jammed paper, its remains or any other foreign objects. If found, they must be removed immediately.

If your printer has a continuous ink supply system, regularly check the condition of the hoses that move ink from the container to the head. They should not be clogged, air plugs, kinks or mechanical damage. The amount of ink should be kept above the average mark. This precaution is to prevent air from being sucked into the CISS. It is not recommended to idle the printer for a long time without printing. Ink can dry out quickly, especially if it is of poor quality. Do a preventive print of multiple sheets every couple of days.

With regular program cleaning, there will be no need for physical for a long time. And so that the paint does NOT dry out, you need to print a color page at least once a week.

How to avoid problems with the Epson LX300 printer?

Despite the fact that this model has been known for a long time, questions on this topic arise quite regularly.

First: CAREFULLY read the “User’s Manual”, especially the second chapter “Using the Printer” (pages 2-25. 2-30) if you have manuals, its web-version is on the manufacturer’s website.
Second: check the BIOS settings of the computer to which the printer is connected: in the properties of the parallel port (LPT), set ECPEPP.
Third: if you have installed native drivers (i.E. From Epson LX-300). Interface cord Use not “Centronix”, but “Bitronix”.

But the third and the second point can be ignored if you supply drivers from Epson LX300. True, the message “insert paper” will pop up, and you will have to press OK with each piece of paper, I confirm the presence of paper.

One of the main differences between the Epson LX300 and many of its predecessors is that the internal settings of the printer are stored in ROM, and not set by DIP-switches (this also applies to its predecessor, the Epson LX300 printer). And if the user (or you yourself) accidentally “fiddles” with the buttons on the printer panel, then it is elementary to reflash the settings, and this can lead to unpredictable consequences.

If you want to connect the printer not from a parallel port, but through a serial (Serial, COM, RS-232), first, make sure that the printer is set to the serial port by default: print a page with settings (according to the “User Manual”) and check line “I / F mode” (interface mode). Serial (serial) should be written there.

In case of any failures, pay attention to the line “Baud rate” (baud rate). you can try to reduce the exchange rate (of course, provided that the printer mechanics are working and clean).

There is one peculiarity when changing the printer default settings, described in the manual: the “LF / FF” key scrolls through the items, but only forward; and if you have skipped the item you need, then there is no way to take a step back, and you need to scroll forward again. And if in the process of changing the settings you turned off the printer and again wanted to make changes, then you need to print all 4 sheets again, and only then get back to the point of changing the settings.

Mechanics and its problems: the most common thing to deal with is the initial positioning sensor. If in previous Epson models no one asked where this sensor is located, how it works and how it looks, then in the LX-300 this is one of the weak points; its malfunction manifests itself as follows: when turned on, the print head is positioned, after which all indicators start blinking, the printer beeps 4 times and then a constant signal.

If there is no substitution, but you need to quickly start the printer, then temporarily swap the initial positioning sensor with the paper thickness sensor. Sometimes soldering of the initial positioning sensor connector helps.

    Addition.
The positioning sensor can be disassembled and clean the metal contacts are washed. An elastic band, and then alcohol. then it is not necessary to change places.
Another problem: with bi-directional printing, there is an offset of the date and font. It is treated by replacing the carriage with printheads.

How to clean the head of an Epson printer

Liquid ink used in inkjet printers can dry out, especially if the printer is not used regularly. Remains of ink can remain in the print head, and then, sometimes it is necessary to clean it.

In order to clean the printer head you will need:

    How to clean the printer

You need to know when you really need to clean it. That is, if the printer has been idle for some time, and the need for its regular operation has come, it is not necessary to clean it before that, you must first try to print the pages, which will show the work of all colors.

If you see stripes with spaces on this test page, you should check if you have enough ink for each color. If so, this is a sure sign that the printer head needs to be cleaned.

To start printing and after making sure that paper is inserted in the printer, you need to go to the printer properties and select the “Maintenance” tab there. The pop-up window offers deep and standard cleaning. We recommend that you try standard cleaning first, as it will use less ink. However, if the problem persists after standard cleaning, a deep cleaning of the printheads must be performed.

After completing deep cleaning, the printer will print a test page to show the Achieved result after cleaning. If it remains unsatisfactory, then the procedure should be repeated again.

If the problem still remains, you can also clean the printer through the printer control panel. To do this, the power indicator should be on, but the error indicator should NOT be on, since otherwise you cannot start cleaning.

If everything is in order, then the service button is pressed and held for a few seconds. Then release the head and the cleaning process begins. The flashing power button will signal that cleaning has started. After cleaning, check the result on the test page. If the problem persists, the procedure can be repeated several times.

If this does not help, you should turn off the printer, let it rest, and try again the next day. You may also need to replace the cartridge.

But even if after all the manipulations, the printer continues to print badly, you will have to contact the service center, because attempts to mechanically clean the printer yourself, and not knowing all the intricacies of the process, can lead to head damage.

Cleaning the nozzles of an Epson printer

Today we will talk about such an unpleasant moment as clogged printer nozzles.
This occurs due to the downtime of the printer, as a result of which the ink dries up in the nozzles and the printer begins to strip. This is especially the case if you are using sublimation inks, as they are more viscous. To avoid this, the printer needs automatic printing.

But if the Epson print head is already clogged and standard cleaning does not help, you need to clean the print head using other methods.

I will show you how to clean the print head nozzles using the Epson l100 as an example. For cleaning we need:

    • 1) A piece of thin plastic.
    • 2) Microfiber cloth.
    • 3) second glue.
    • 4) Alcohol-based glass cleaner.
    • 5) The printer itself.

If you have a 3d TV, then it usually comes in a box with glasses.

After that, we remove the microfiber, connect the Epson printer and print it using the software method. There is a good program for this, in which I wrote in the article “resetting the Epson printer”.

If, after cleaning, the printer strips again, repeat the procedure with the printheads off.

That’s all, don’t forget to print the printer.

How to lubricate the printer guides

If you want your printer to serve for a long time and faithfully, you need to use only “native” ink, and not purchase ink and other consumables from unreliable manufacturers.

Like any thing, the printer is picky about care. And first of all, to cleanliness. Therefore, the printer should be cleaned, especially the sensitive carriage and printheads located on it.

    Why does dirt appear:

    • It is created by formulations for the lubricant, which is located on the guide.
    • The dust that surrounds us, and in offices the main dust from paper.
    • If ink spills past the guide due to poor printer setup.

    How to clean the carriage?

    • You need to take a piece of cotton cloth, wet it with ethyl alcohol and carefully remove the dirt. Artificial material is not suitable for this procedure, due to the fact that it is NOT able to absorb, therefore, high-quality cleaning will not work. To clean the surface of the guide, you need to manage to turn the fabric so that it simultaneously cleans it all.
    • So, you have swaddled the guide. Now, in turn, pull the flap at the ends, as if you were sawing. We perform this movement until the entire surface is cleaned.
    • The guide should be lubricated after the procedure. To do this, drip industrial or silicone oils on it.

Sometimes you can clean or grease the guide without even removing the top cover of the printer. But there are also printers when you cannot use a strip of cloth to clean the printing device. In this case, just wipe the surface well that is accessible.

Attention! All operations, whatever they may be, can be performed only if the printer is disconnected from the mains.

Today manufacturers offer a felt pad with a special “B” lubricant. All instructions contain a list of oils recommended for SEPARATE printer models. It is the best cleaning material.

On some printers, the carriage is fitted with a bronze bushing. It already has a built-in lubrication device. a felt pad. Felt is good because it absorbs oil well, and then slowly supplies lubricant to the guide. Therefore, frequent lubrication is NOT required. With no bonza bushings, the plastic carriage requires less lubrication. But, as you know, plastic deteriorates too quickly.

The shape of felt pads can be different. If it resembles rings, it will be located on the side of the carriage.

    Sublimaster

In this article, I will show you how to clean the print head of your Epson printer yourself. Why Epson? It’s just this model of household printers that we use for sublimation printing. Although the principle of cleaning itself should certainly work for Canon.

Judging by the letters from my readers, the head cleaning problem is very urgent. So the writing of this article has become inevitable. Everything that I will describe is true for printers with water-based or pigment inks, as well as with sublimation.

If one day you see that your printer‘s printing is far from ideal, stripes or incorrectly reproduces colors, the first thing to do is print a nozzle test on the printer. To do this, go to the “Start-Devices and Printers” menu. In the window that opens, select a printer, right-click on its image and select the term “Print settings”. Next, go to the “Service” tab and click “Check nozzles”.

Everything is simple and clear there, print a nozzle test and compare with the sample in the computer window. Typically, if you print poorly, the nozzle test cannot be good. An exception may be if the printer encoder is dirty.

It’s good when you see a similar pattern with dotted lines on your test. In this case, one or three regular cleaning of the printer head is sufficient by calling the cleaning function on the “Service” tab. In most cases, this is sufficient for perfect printing. It is much worse when, after printing a nozzle test, you do NOT see one or more colors at all.

To begin with, you should make sure that there is ink in the cartridges, see if you DO NOT pinch the CISS hose. If your printer has a waste ink drain hose connected, make sure it is not bent or pinched. If everything is in order on these points, then most likely the nozzles (nozzles) of the printheads are clogged. This often happens when the printer is idle for a long time without work, as well as when using low-quality ink.

If after several regular cleanings the picture has not improved, you will have to clean the head with other, more serious methods. This is what we will do now.

I have a simple set for cleaning the printer head.

A few more words about the flushing fluid. It is very possible that you will not find a similar one. I know that many people use the Mr. Muscle glass cleaner as a rinse, but I have NOT used it myself, so I can’t say anything. If you don’t find anything at all, you can use warm distilled water.

We put a piece of tubing on the syringe and draw in about 5 ml of rinsing.

Now output the printer carriage to the position of replacing the cartridges and pull out the power cord. So safer.

We put the free end of the tube on the receiving needle with the printheads of the color we need. In this case, the photo shows the Epson Stylus T27 printer.

It is advisable to choose the diameter of the tube so that it fits tightly, with light effort. Now we smoothly press on the syringe plunger and pump about 1 ml of flushing liquid inside the head. Then, with the same smooth movements, we begin to pull the piston towards ourselves, sucking the liquid back into the syringe. The liquid will be painted in the color of the ink. that’s good, the process has started! Do a few similar pumping back and forth.

Now replace the cartridge, plug in the printer and pump the ink in the usual way through the “Service” menu. Then do a nozzle test.

It is very good if on the prints instead of the missing color you see at least some dashes, stripes. It means that the matter has moved off the ground and our nozzles began to clean up. If not, you will have to remove the cartridge again and repeat the head cleaning procedure. Usually two or three such procedures are enough for me to return the printer to working condition.

If you have a Running case and after three cleanings the color does not appear, the process is somewhat lengthened.

Using the same syringe, pump 1. 2 ml of flushing liquid into the print head. Then slide the carriage to the left. On the right side, you will see the printhead parking area. For example, on the Epson Stylus Photo T50 it looks like this

Blot the foam rubber from ink residues with a napkin and moisten it well with flushing liquid. Now return the carriage to its rightful place, so that the nozzles on the bottom lie on the foam rubber soaked in rinsing. Reinsert the cartridge and leave the printer for twelve hours, or better for a day. Then clean the print head again using the regular method and, if necessary, with a syringe.

Such actions are NOT too complicated must necessarily bear fruit and bring the printer back to life. If your printer has been idle for several months, then this cleaning method may NOT help. In this case, you will have to remove the printhead and soak it in an ultrasonic bath.

And so that this does not happen to you, do not allow the printer to be idle for a long time and Print at least once or twice a week some color image. In this case, you will not need my tips for cleaning the printer’s print heads.!

    Good luck and success!

How to clean the epson printer head, instructions and recommendations.

Epson brand printers with continuous ink supply system are considered among the best. They are advantageous in operation, economical in paint consumption. Suitable for office printing or home use. When the device experiences a problem with ink supply, you need to clean its head. It is possible to do it yourself at home.

    Epson L110

Different models of printers have their own cleaning characteristics. The procedure is carried out as needed, there are no clear restrictions or a certain frequency. Better to use methods that do not require disassembling the device. This will extend its life. The easiest way. It is software. To complete it, you need to open the start menu and go to the section called “Devices and Printers”. There you need to find the model of your printer, hover over it, click and select the “Properties” category from the menu. Then, on the “Service” tab, select “Head cleaning” and click on the right mouse button to start the program. When cleaning is complete, a test pattern is printed. If there are no gaps on it, the process is considered complete. Repeat if necessary 2 times.

    How to clean your L200

The printer needs cleaning when its head clogs and the legibility of images or text is impaired. The procedure can be carried out manually. Necessary actions:

    • Turn off the device using the start button. Wait until the green light turns on, but do not disconnect from the computer.
    • Next, the paper lays down in its input tray. At least 5 sheets. We will use it for printing.
    • The printer seems to be commanding to perform printhead cleaning. It is carried out by simultaneously pressing the Cancel Reset and power buttons.
    • The print quality of the test pages is checked. If the lines on them are clear and continuous, then the cleanings were successful. If the lines on the paper are dotted, dashed, then the process must be repeated.
    • Press Cancel Reset and hold for 3-5 seconds until the indicator starts flashing. This indicates the start of cleaning.
    • After the light stops flashing, the device turns off.

Cleaning your printer on time will improve productivity and save ink. If your documents don’t print well, it’s time to bring the head of the device back to normal for crisp, continuous printing. But it is often not recommended to do the procedure, otherwise it will lead to the opposite effect and reduce the image quality. Find “Devices and Printers” in the start menu. We choose our own among them and start the cleaning process using the appropriate program. In this case, the printer should be excluded, but connected to the computer. When the program starts head cleaning, ink is dispensed from the donor trays and passes through the nozzles to remove any blockages or blockages that contribute to gaps, dull patterns or text. After the procedure, you should test the device by printing several letters with documents. If cleaning is unsuccessful, you can give the printer some rest and repeat after 12:00.

OCP RSL and Color-print RED-BLOOD flushing fluids are combined together. The injection can be done with a syringe. Shake the contents. When finished, the mixture should be bright pink. We fill refillable cartridges with flushing liquid. They are included in the printer flush kit. We install cartridges with liquid and do several cleanings at intervals of 2-3 hours after a couple of events. In difficult cases, it is allowed to leave them in the device at 12:00 or more in order to get good results. In this case, during the nozzle test, it will be a light pink tint. If you see other colors, repeat the cleaning. Color-print RED-BLOOD liquid can be used not only for washing, but also for saving the printer. It will not allow the head to dry out and clog if it becomes necessary not to use the device for a while.

    How to clean your L800

It is necessary to start the procedure when streaks appear on documents during printing or the color of the printout fades. This will require flushing fluid. If the printer is not very clogged, then you can moisten cotton pads in it, place them in the head parking place at 12:00. After the required time has elapsed, remove the discs and start the software cleaning process. The procedure is carried out only when the device is turned off. If you have to take out the cartridges, then it does not take 2-3 minutes to do this, and the sooner they fall into place, the better. This is due to the ingress of air into them, which will contribute to the next drying of the paint and nullify all your previous efforts. By doing the cleaning procedure correctly, you can easily restore the printer head to work.

    Epson sx30

Dried printer head is cleaned with a cartridge and reanimation liquid. Procedure order:

    • Dismantle the cartridge and rinse from dried paint.
    • Fill it with flushing fluid and reinstall.
    • When inserting the cartridge, preference should be given to the volume of the color channel, it works worse than others.
    • Carry out cleaning using the device driver menu.
    • Wait a couple of hours.
    • Print a test sheet. There will be a noticeable ink residue on it, with which nozzles, printer channels were clogged.
    • Leave the device as it is at 12:00.
    • Repeat program cleaning.
    • Wait 2-3 hours.
    • Purge Again Using Device Driver Option.
    • Insert ink cartridge.
    • Print a test sheet after cleaning.

    Printer cx4300

Use the usual software method to clean the device. If it turns out to be ineffective due to the large clogging of the head with debris and dried ink, use the physical method of flushing. Stock up on a syringe, dropper tube, flushing fluid, scissors, tissue, and gloves. After cutting the dropper tube to a length of 5 to 10 cm, it is put on the syringe. The flushing liquid is drawn into the tube. You need to turn on the printer and open the cover, wait for the carriage with cartridges to exit to the replacement position. Then the device turns off. The print head is manually moved to the right, a napkin is applied and the head runs over it. The cartridges are pulled out, a tube with a syringe is inserted into their queue connectors to supply 2-3 cubes of the washing composition. After the end of the procedure, the system is assembled back and 2 cleanings are performed using the printer driver. If in the future there is no desire to often repeat the cleaning of the device, it is advisable to print at least once every 7 days, one color letter at a time, so that the ink does not dry out and clog the printer head.

Having learned how to clean the device at home, you will save yourself from contacting service centers and paying for their services.
