How to flush the Canon inkjet printer cartridge

We wash the print head right at home

For some reason, the hardware cleaning of the device could not cope with its task, and after it the printing did not become of high quality, and the output images did not acquire clarity. There is a solution, and there are only two options for this solution. take the equipment to a technical workshop or try to eliminate the contamination yourself. Further, it is worth continuing to read only to those people who are full of enthusiasm and want to try themselves in something new.

For self-cleaning of the component, you will need:

Important! In no case, do not try to flush the print head of the printer with solutions that contain ethyl alcohol or acids. After such “cleaning” the device will stop working.

If all the tools are ready and at hand, then you can proceed to the next step:

  • We fold a piece of bandage into 2-3 layers and cover the surface of the bottom of a previously prepared container with it. Pour some flushing liquid into the container.
  • We remove the element that we are going to clean, place it with the lower platform on the soaked bandage.
  • We take our tubes and put them on the receiving fittings.

Important! It is desirable that the pipes are about five centimeters long. Do not forget to remove the rubber gaskets from them, which will also have to be thoroughly rinsed.

  • We pour the liquid that we have chosen for the procedure into the tubes, leave the whole thing for two to three hours, pouring the solution into each of the tubes, if necessary.
  • If the amount of liquid in the tubes does not change, then you are faced with a deep blockage, which must be removed by force. We take the tip of the syringe and alternately insert it into each of the tubes, gradually pulling the plunger out at each operation.

Important! Do not push down on the plunger of the syringe, as excessive pressure can damage the mechanism.

  • Repeat all the manipulations (changing the bandage and product) until the liquid in the container ceases to take on a different color.
  • We dip the bottom of the printing component and put the washed gaskets back on the fitting.
  • We wait until the device dries out, and return it to its rightful place.

After all the steps, it remains to return the cartridges to their place and check the print quality, wait a few hours and check it again:

  • If clear symbols without streaks and dirt flaunt on a white sheet of paper, then we assure you that you did it.
  • But if things are not going well, you will have to do the cleaning again.

For complete cleansing, you will have to rinse the head very well, soaking it for a very long time (possibly up to several days). But if after such actions nothing has changed for the better, then you will have to think about replacing the equipment.

Important! Do not rush, because there is a possibility that the matter is in the quality of the ink used. Try to get the factory cartridges and test the print again.

Cleaning the print head of the printer

How does the HP printer flush? It is no secret that inkjet printers use a special ink solution as a “refueling” for the print head. Print quality declines for two of the most common reasons:

  • Clogged mechanism.
  • Printhead Problems.

Let’s reveal the secret that today inkjet printers are equipped with an interesting function. programmed cleaning of nozzles without dismantling the printing element. This software tool is very convenient and saves the user from unnecessary suffering.

Important! Be sure to make sure that the correct size of blank paper is in the tray of your output device.

Now let’s move on to the cleaning itself. To clean the printer properly, there are two types of this useful procedure:

  • Deep cleaning.
  • Standard.

In order to activate one of these functions:

  • You need to go to the “Control Panel” and find the field that is called “Devices and Printers”.
  • After switching to this element, you need to find the model of your printer and click on its RMB shortcut (right-click).
  • After these actions, a context menu will unfold in front of you, on which you need the “Properties” tab.
  • A window with tabs will unfold in front of you again. look for the “Service” tab and click on it.

All this disgrace occurs due to the ingress of dirt or failure of any printing elements. Sometimes you can cope with the problem on your own, but if you hesitate, then you cannot do without specialists. How to flush a Canon inkjet printer cartridge? Now we will answer this question.

How to flush a Canon inkjet printer cartridge

Many owners who have inkjet printers from Canon often start having problems associated with the loss of print quality. In many cases, the printhead may be the cause of these problems.
Today, with our help, you will be able to determine the reason, and from which the usual print quality of the printer began to deteriorate.

In addition, we will tell you a little about the current methods, how you can get out of such an undesirable situation (if, of course, it is possible). The only thing we can guarantee for sure is that we will share with you our extensive experience in working and repairing Canon printers. We also collected our knowledge from the experience of those people who were looking for and found a solution on their own, when they themselves also faced these problems, and then shared them on different forums. We do not say that the method that will be described is the only correct one, but despite this, we came to this option as a result of difficult and not simple experiments, during which a lot of mistakes were also made, about which we discussed on thematic forums to share experiences and find the right advice. And yet, we call this method the most convenient one that we met for a successful flushing option.

Flushing Canon Cartridges

I hope that I will not reveal a great secret if I say that the ink that is sold ‘in bulk’ and in any container (except for original ink tanks and cartridges) are, so to speak, compatible, and sometimes their properties differ significantly from the original ones. and when using such inks, the print head of the printer operates in a mode far from optimal (calculated by the manufacturer), which leads to premature wear of the print head and deterioration of print quality. But such inks have one indisputable advantage, compared to the original ones. they are cheap, which is why they are so popular, because it is no secret to anyone that for three or four refills, for example, a set of CLI-8 ink tanks, the saved amount is comparable to the cost new printer.

Clogging of the print head. typical manifestations: thin white streaks across the movement of the sheet when printing photos, stripes across the movement of the sheet, of different widths, with blurred borders.

Other malfunctions that lead to distortion of the printed image.

Canon cartridge rinsing is best done with distilled water.
First of all, you need to pump out the remaining ink from the cartridge using the ink pumping device (included in most kits for refilling cartridges). Attention! This procedure must be repeated several times until the ink stops flowing from the cartridge into the syringe. Next, fill the inner cavity (with ink) of the cartridge with water. Many people are confused about how to flush a Canon cartridge. The method of refilling the cartridge with distilled water is completely similar to the method of refilling the cartridge with ink. Except that the cartridge must be absolutely completely filled with distilled water, it must completely fill the reservoir with the sponge. Then the water must be pumped out of the cartridge. This is done in the same way as at the very beginning ink was pumped out of the cartridge.

How to Flush Canon Printer Cartridges
I also want to draw your attention to the fact that it will not work to rinse the cartridge at once, therefore, the process of filling and pumping out the cartridge with distilled water should be repeated several times until clean water flows from the nozzles of the head.

If the print head of the cartridge is dry and does not let the flushing liquid pass through itself, then it is necessary to “soak the nozzles of the cartridge.
The operation of soaking the nozzles of the cartridge can be performed with steam (for example, hold the print head over the open lid of a hot kettle) or place the head in a container with a small amount of flushing / repair liquid (its level should be 2-3 mm higher than the immersed nozzles of the head).
To enhance the effect, it is better to heat this liquid to a temperature of 40-45 ° C (but no more).

How to clean the print head nozzles. effective ways for printers Epson, HP, Canon and others

Sooner or later, the printer may print poorly, for example, smudge the paper, leave black or white streaks, and noticeable color irregularities. This is often due to the lack of preventive measures for intensive, frequent printing. The elements of the apparatus can become clogged, and, if they say about an inkjet printer, the cartridges of which are filled with liquid ink, the latter are prone to drying out, both in the cartridge itself and on the part through which the ink enters the sheet of paper. the print head.

This element, depending on the brand and model of the printer, can be built into the cartridge (non-removable) and vice versa. In both cases, you can restore the work of the part by cleaning it well using one of the proposed methods below.

It doesn’t matter what kind of printer you have, Epson, Canon, HP, or even talking about a multifunctional device (MFP), because the difference will only be in the design. And in the material, we described various ways that will help you clean the printer head at home in a variety of situations. With the help of the posted images and videos, you can probably understand which of the methods is right for you.

All about flushing fluids

It is best to use a flushing fluid from the same company that made the consumable for cleaning. If you can’t find one, any certified cleaner will do. It will not damage the device, but you need to choose a tool taking into account the type of ink in the cartridge.

For cleaning from water-soluble ink, apply:

Either a specially designed solvent or isopropyl alcohol is used to flush out nozzles contaminated with pigment dyes.

  • W01. demineralized water;
  • CL-04. liquid for cleaning the upper parts of the printer from aqueous ink;
  • CL-06. means for removing traces of black and colored pigment paint;
  • CL-08. special liquid for washing and soaking;
  • CL-10. Reinforced Cleaner.

A common window cleaner is cheap. At home, “Mister Muscle” is often used.

It is important to pay attention to its color when choosing a detergent.

  • Green and pink. Suitable for removing water-based ink as it contains ammonia.
  • Blue and orange (with isopropyl alcohol). Used to remove pigment ink marks.

Before flushing, the cleaner must be heated to t = 40.60 ° C to enhance the effect of the solution.

Before cleaning, you can test the efficiency of the cleaner. Take some ink and dissolve in different products. After a few hours, you can analyze the result. If a precipitate is released or the liquid becomes jelly, the cleaner is selected incorrectly. With the right cleaner, the colorant liquefies and the ink clots loosen.

Ultrasonic bath

This is a rather risky cleaning method, they resort to it if it was not possible to rinse the head with other methods.

The procedure requires additional equipment, for example, a medical device or a device for gentle cleaning of small parts. With an ultrasonic bath, there is a risk that the part will fail and cannot be repaired. Those who used this method claim that the head breaks down within a day or immediately upon the first print.

Software cleaning

Flushing software is offered by every printing technology manufacturer. The program is installed on the computer during connection and printer setup automatically or from the installation disc.

Cleaning with software is a run of ink through the nozzles of the head. Ink pressure removes light ink plugs and air accumulations.

Before more complex physical cleaning, do the program according to the scheme below.

  • Go to “Start”. “Control Panel”. “Hardware and Sound”. “Devices and Printers”. Or you immediately find yourself in the desired window: start the “Run” window and write the command “control printers”, press “Enter” or “Ok”.
  • Select your printer from the list of connected equipment and right-click on it.

The necessary settings and the item responsible for cleaning depend on the brand and model of equipment. Install the software bundled with the device upon purchase and study its interface in detail. Make sure you find the function you want and clean the part.

For the Epson brand, you can install the PrintHelp utility, which also has this functionality.

Keep in mind that the software method consumes ink, which could be enough to print 3-5 A4 sheets. After cleaning, the printer should remain at rest for 2-5 hours.

If after 3-4 cleanings the print quality does not improve, the head needs to be washed manually.

Manual head cleaning

Prepare your work area first. A simple desk is optimal. To avoid contamination, cover the surface with old newspapers or paper in several layers.

Flushing the head on the cartridge

If the printer has a cartridge with a built-in head, remove the container from the device, turn the nozzles upwards and apply a few drops of the product to them. After 10 minutes, remove the excess cleaner with a napkin and check if the dye passes onto the napkin. If it was not possible to rinse the nozzles in this way, they must be soaked in a container with detergent. You need to soak at least 2-3 hours.

To better penetrate the liquid into the nozzles, you can put a piece of a toothpick under the inkwell, so the nozzles will not come into contact with the bottom of the container and at the same time remain immersed in the solution.

After soaking, the entire surface is wiped dry with a napkin, especially the contacts. The cartridge is inserted into the printer and the nozzle check test starts. If the cleaning quality is poor, try blowing the nozzles through the air intake:

  • Cut the needle from the syringe in half and put it on the syringe.
  • Put a soft elastic band on the needle. It will ensure that the syringe fits snugly against the walls of the ink tank.
  • The needle is inserted into the air intake hole of the cartridge, and the elastic band is firmly pressed against the walls.
  • The air from the syringe is gently squeezed inward. There should be a piece of gauze or napkin under the bottom of the ink tank, onto which ink will flow under pressure.
  • Colored ink tanks with three holes on top are similarly purged.

Complete disassembly of the head

You can disassemble the head on your own only if you have experience. It is better to entrust the work to the specialists of a certified service center. Will help in disassembling the video below.

Why it is necessary to carry out preventive maintenance of printers?

There are three reasons why inkjet printers need to be cleaned periodically:

How to clean an inkjet cartridge yourself

At home, inkjet printers are most commonly used for printing photographs. Like any other technique, such devices need proper care. Cleaning the cartridges is one way to extend the life of your printers and get high quality prints.

What is the signal for cleaning?

One of the following defects indicates the need to clean the printer cartridge:

  • Fuzzy or jagged lines appear when printing the head nozzle check pattern.
  • The appearance of ink blots during printing.
  • Complete or partial absence of ink of one or more colors when printing a head nozzle check pattern.
  • Horizontal stripes appear when acquiring color images.

Methods for cleaning cartridges

There are several ways to clean the cartridges:

    “Cold” way. To implement it, you will need rubber medical gloves, a pipette, paper and cotton napkins, a disposable syringe, and any glass cleaner containing ethylene glycol and isopropyl alcohol (for example, “Mister Shine” or “Mister Muscle”). The cartridge is positioned on the cotton fabric, nozzles up. After that, it is necessary to carefully apply a few drops of cleaning liquid to them using a pipette. After about 10 minutes, the contact pads and nozzles of the cartridge should be blotted with a paper towel and wiped dry with a cotton cloth. Cleaning of the cartridge is characterized by a clear ink print on a clean cloth when the cartridge is in position. These actions are not always sufficient and the nozzles remain clogged. At the second stage, you need to take a small container (a can lid is suitable) and pour a layer of cleaning liquid about 3 mm deep into it. Then you should leave the cartridge in the container with the nozzles down for 2-3 hours. Then dry it and try again.

It is worth going to the last stage if the first two did not work. Cut a small plug from the silicone or rubber for the air intake opening located on the top of the cartridge. After that, put the plug on the syringe needle with the plunger pulled out to the stop and close the hole. Next, you need to push the piston, create excess pressure in the cartridge and squeeze the dried ink out of the nozzles.

    “Hot” way. In this case, cleaning begins by analogy with the second stage of the “cold” method, only hot water is used instead of the cleaning liquid. It must be changed several times without waiting for it to cool down. The cartridge is kept in the container until the water is clear. At the second stage, in the same container, instead of hot water, you should use a mixture of glass cleaner (“Mister Shine” or “Mister Muscle”) with water in a 1: 1 ratio. The cartridge is located in it with the nozzles down and left for several hours. After that, it should be rinsed with hot water. At the last stage, the cartridge must be dried and the cleaning efficiency must be checked by the ink print on a clean cloth. If the result is negative, the entire procedure must be repeated. Additionally, the cartridge can be purged by analogy with the third stage of the “cold” method.

In addition to the helpers, there are also special tools for cleaning cartridges. These include, for example, WWM cleaning fluids. There are several varieties of them, designed for different types of work and cartridges. The order of work in this case is similar to the methods listed above: soaking, rinsing, drying and filling.

Despite its apparent simplicity, cleaning the cartridge is a rather laborious procedure. For its correct implementation, we recommend using the services of a specialized service center.

How to refill a Canon inkjet printer cartridge

Before you start refilling cartridges, carefully prepare your workplace. If you are going to refuel consumables in a living room, then cover the table and nearby furniture with oilcloth or some unnecessary blanket. Be sure to wear old clothing and rubber gloves. This is because inkjet cartridges contain liquid ink that can be easily spilled accidentally. If this happens, then completely wash them, wash, etc. You will definitely not succeed. We recommend refilling Canon cartridges in a specially equipped room or workshop.

If the place for refueling consumables is ready, you can gradually move on to the main process. Take the cartridges out of the printer just to get started. To do this correctly, turn on the device by pressing the “Power” button. Wait until it is fully loaded. As soon as the MFP enters ready mode, open the cartridge cover.

By detaching the cover, a special sensor will be triggered, which will set the printer carriage in motion and align it in the center of the machine. If your MFP model has a latch, lift it up. Then, lightly press down on the front of each cartridge until you hear a click, and pull them towards you. Place the seized consumables on a napkin or piece of paper.

Now you can start refilling the cartridges. The ink replenishment process is virtually the same for all Canon inkjet cartridge models described in this article. But in some places there are slight differences, we will clarify about them separately.

How to refill Canon PG-37, PG-40, PG-46, PG-50, PG-440, PG-510, PG-512, CL-38, CL-41, CL-51, CL-56, CL- 441, CL-446, CL-511, CL-513

Prepare four medical syringes. Draw ink into them. The black ink in the syringe should not exceed 10 ml. Colored we collect 4 ml each.

Caution: Do not refill all cartridges from the same syringe, as this will negatively affect print quality.

Put down the syringes and take a utility (construction) knife. Use it to carefully remove the factory stickers located on the cartridge lids (if they are still adhesive, do not throw it away, but put it aside). Note that the beginning of the air valve channel is visible from under the sticker. When sticking it back on, do the same.

Now change the knife to an awl or 1-2mm drill. Locate the air valves in the cover and create small holes in their place. It is through them that the cartridges will be refilled.

Important: Do not make the holes too large, but they should not be narrow either. The fact is that when refueling, air will enter the cartridge, which must necessarily exit through the same holes. If he has nowhere to go, he will begin to squeeze ink through the nozzles, which will lead to leakage or failure of the print head. The P08 code may also appear.

Then we take the syringes, and in turn we pour the dye into the holes corresponding to the color of the ink.

Please note: PG series cartridges are refilled with black ink. The CL series tri-color cartridges are refillable with three types of inks. The magenta ink slot is slightly separate from the other two (closer to the contacts). In the hole to the left of magenta, you need to pour in cyan ink, to the right. yellow.

Lower the syringe needle into the opening until it rests against the absorbent sponge. Insert the needle into the absorber to a depth of 0.5-1 cm and begin to gently squeeze the ink into the cartridge. As soon as you see ink in the hole, stop refilling. Pull the needle out of the sponge and insert it again, but no more than 1 mm. Pull excess ink into the syringe. If this is not done, ink will flow through the nozzles on the print head.

Wipe down the cartridge lid and reapply the sticker or a piece of strong tape. If you bought a refueling set, then special plugs are included with it, you can insert them.

After refilling the cartridges, run the nozzles over the napkin and look at the print. If all is well, you will see four bold stripes corresponding to the color of the ink.

In addition, how to install cartridges in a Canon printer, first create a test nozzle print. Using your PC, enter the Printers and Faxes menu. Select your device model and right-click on it. Next, select “Printing Preferences” and in the window that opens, go to the “Maintenance” tab. Among the many items, find and click on “Nozzle Test”. When the printer creates a test print, you can use it to determine the print quality. If it is not satisfactory, then deep clean the cartridges.

Features of refilling the cartridge Canon PG-445

Canon PG-445 cartridge is structurally similar to PG-46. However, its lid is made in a slightly specific way. The ribbed shape slightly complicates refueling, but does not actually affect the process itself. Preparation is carried out in the traditional way. However, the hole is drilled in a different location. When you remove the sticker, you will see that the air valve is on the left in the fifth cell. Make a 1-2 mm hole there. Refill very carefully so that the ink does not rise above the opening. Otherwise, it will be very problematic to remove them from the cell. Better to pour in a little less ink. Everything else is done in the same way as for other Canon cartridges.

Detailed instructions for refilling Canon PG and CL series inkjet cartridges

Canon inkjet printers are among the most affordable. Therefore, it is popular to purchase them for home use. After all, such office equipment is perfect for schoolchildren and students for printing various educational materials. In addition, it can be used for printing color images and photographs. However, the manufacturer is a little cunning. He sets a low price for the printing device, while inflating the price tag for consumables for him. An inexperienced consumer will only notice this when a Canon printer cartridge starts to run out of ink.

Which Canon cartridges can be refilled

If you take an inkjet cartridge and carefully examine it, then you will not see any holes, hatches and other elements in its design for replenishing the dye. And indeed it is. Basically, all inkjet consumables provided by the original manufacturer come as a disposable item that must be replaced unconditionally if the ink runs out. But craftsmen were able to find a reliable way to refill Canon cartridges, and thereby greatly increase their service life.

In this regard, you can refill absolutely any inkjet cartridges suitable for Canon printers (monochrome, color, one-color and tri-color). Among them, most often such models of Canon cartridges as:

  • Monochrome: PG-37 / PG-40 / PG-46 / PG-50 / PG-440 / PG-445 / PG-510 / PG-512
  • Colored: CL-38 / CL-41 / CL-51 / CL-52 / CL-56 / CL-441 / CL-446 / CL-511 / CL-513
READ  Algorithm for Printing a Document on a Printer

These consumables are one of the most demanded today, as they fit many popular models of Canon office equipment. In particular, we are talking about the following MFPs:

  • Canon PIXMA iP1200 / iP1300 / iP1600 / iP1700 / iP1800 / IP1900 / iP2200 / iP2500 / iP6210D / iP6220D
  • Canon PIXMA MP140 / MP190 / MP210 / MP220 / MP230 / MP240 / MP250 / MP260 / MP270 / MP280 / MP450 / MP460 / MP480
  • Canon Pixma MX320 / MX330
  • Canon PIXMA MG2440 / MG2540 / MG2940
  • Canon PIXMA Ink Efficiency E404 / E464 / E484

To see if it’s time to refuel the cartridges, take a look at the last prints they’ve created. If they have streaks, gaps, or some color is missing, then the level of the dye in the cartridges is close to the critical level. Some MFP models themselves may inform you that there is no ink in the cartridges by displaying the corresponding error code on the display of the printer or PC.

Features of refilling the Canon CL-52 photo cartridge

Another series of Canon cartridges, which differs in the specificity of refilling. However, in this case, the matter is not in the design features, but in the ink. The CL-52 contains Photo Black, Light Cyan, and Light Magenta inks. If you mix them up during refueling, then you are guaranteed to spoil the consumable designed for printing materials of photographic quality. This type of cartridge is refilled in the same way as the others. Only when you get to the moment of replenishing the dye, pay attention to the fact that separately and above there is a hole for light cyan ink, below and to the left. for photo black, to the right. for light magenta. After refueling, be sure to create a test print.

Method 1 (hard)

This method requires a regular syringe.

  • Find a small hole on the back of the cartridge. It acts as an air intake. It is necessary to insert a needle into it, put on an empty syringe. Insert just enough so that it rests. The part of the needle remaining outside should be measured.
  • Cut off the amount that does not fit from the end of the needle. Next, you need to take a small piece of rubber material and put it on the base of the needle. It will serve as a gasket and will not allow unnecessary physical impact on the plastic, which can lead to breakage.
  • Place the cartridge on the paper with the nozzles down. It will absorb paint that should run off during cleaning. Reinsert the syringe, but with air, and slowly squeeze it out until drops appear on the nozzles.

Now it remains to remove the allocated ink, and you can start printing.

Signs for cleaning

The fact that there is a need to inspect inkjet printer cartridges is evidenced by a number of printing defects, the main of which are as follows:

  • Test prints have jagged or fuzzy lines on templates.
  • ink blots appear on the sheets during device operation;
  • one or more colors are missing when printing a test pattern;
  • horizontal streaks appear on the paper when taking photographs and other color images.

The considered defects are typical for different device models, for example, Epson, HP, Samsung, Canon. When a restart does not help get rid of an unpleasant phenomenon, then you will need to clean the device cartridges. There are several reasons why you need to do this regularly:

  • during downtime, it may happen that the paint in the nozzles has dried, and it will need to be removed to remove the blockages;
  • dust from the air settles inside the printer, especially on ink-covered assemblies. print head, cartridges.

For laser devices, clean up when replacing toner. At the same time, old paint and other contaminants are removed from the cartridge. The work is carried out with napkins, cloth or lint-free brush. It is important that the electrical contacts remain clean. The work is carried out according to certain aLGorithms and does not require special skills.

Self-cleaning of the cartridge: work aLGorithm

When using an inkjet or laser printer, it may be necessary to clean the cartridge. At home, the devices are often used irregularly, but, despite this, they need proper care. Timely cleaning contributes to obtaining high-quality printouts, allows you to extend the life of the equipment. Do-it-yourself cleaning can be done hot and cold. To carry it out on time, you should know the first signs of problems related to cartridges.

Method 2 (simple)

To clean the cartridge using this method, you will need a rubber pad, which may be supplied with the cartridge (not all models have it). If it is provided by the manufacturer, then the sequence of actions is as follows.

  • There is a hole in the escutcheon. You need to insert a syringe into it without a needle.
  • Now, with the syringe installed, it is placed on the cartridge.
  • Holding the hopper with paint on the table, and pressing the pad (it creates a kind of vacuum), you need to pull the syringe plunger towards you, pulling out the ink through the hole.

This completes the cleaning process. All that remains is to make sure the ink does not leak. If there are any residues on the nozzles, then they are simply removed.

Cleaning with detergent

To implement the cold method, you will need to stock up on such available tools and materials:

  • rubber gloves (medical);
  • syringe;
  • napkins (cloth) made of paper or cotton;
  • clean water;
  • pipette;
  • a special glass cleaner containing isopropyl alcohol or ethylene glycol.

Examples of suitable detergent are “Mr. Muscle”, “Mr. Shine”.

The whole process takes place in the following sequence:

  • position it with nozzles up (on a specially lined fabric);
  • a cleaning liquid is applied to them with a few drops using a pipette;
  • wait about 10 minutes;
  • then the nozzles get wet with a napkin, wipe them dry with a cotton cloth.

Removal may require a screwdriver, depending on the model of the device used.

The manipulations discussed above are not always enough. If the nozzles remain clogged, the operation continues:

  • take a small container;
  • fill it with cleaning fluid, pouring about a layer of 3 mm;
  • immersed in the nozzle;
  • keep them in liquid for 3 hours;
  • taken out and wiped dry.

After wiping the nozzles of the cartridge in the working position with a cloth, an ink mark should remain on it, which is the characteristic result of complete cleaning. An ordinary plastic lid from under a can is suitable as a container for the detergent composition.

Specialty liquids are commercially available to remove dried ink. They are divided even by types of cartridges, but the scheme of work with them is the same.

Manual injection

In order for the ink from the cartridge to get onto the paper, a set of certain mechanisms is used inside. The design is such that it is possible to manually push a certain amount of ink, which will allow you to clean the nozzles. There are 2 ways in total.

Software cleaning

Many inkjet machines are equipped with built-in automatic cleaning programs. To carry it out, proceed as follows:

  • open the control panel;
  • go to the settings of the printing equipment;
  • there they select the required section. “Tools and cleaning the cartridge”;
  • make a test printout of a blank sheet.

The operation can be repeated several times. Built-in tools eliminate minor contaminants.

If there is no function, then you can download the program from a disk or the Internet and install it. Then, in the print settings, select the “Printer maintenance” section, then you will need to open the print settings, start cleaning. In this case, you should follow the instructions of the program. Most often, the procedure must be performed repeatedly.

When the software method did not help, then you can get rid of the problem in several other ways. For different models of inkjet technology, the aLGorithms are the same, only the way of accessing the cartridges is different. This may require a set of screwdrivers with different bits.

The scheme of work, regardless of the chosen cleaning method, is as follows:

  • removing the cartridge;
  • soaking;
  • flushing;
  • drying;
  • refueling;
  • installation in a printer;
  • control printout.

It is necessary to work carefully so as not to smear the surrounding objects, clothes with ink.

Prevention of malfunctions

Any technique requires proper maintenance and operation, which helps to avoid many problems. For the printer to serve for a long time and without interruption, it is enough to follow these recommendations.

  • The area where the printing equipment is located should be kept clean. Wet weekly cleaning is essential, as dust is the worst enemy of a printer or MFP.
  • Once a month, it is worth carefully cleaning the printer with a vacuum cleaner. This will collect dust and ink particles (from laser printers). Places wet from paint should be removed with a cloth.
  • Each printer has a software method for cleaning the printer head. How to start it. you can find out in the instructions for the device. This cleaning should be regular.
  • If the printer is in color, and most often only black text is printed, then it is worth doing a test color print once a week. Otherwise, the paint may dry out and clog the nozzles.
  • When refueling laser printers, experts recommend cleaning the waste ink hopper regardless of its fill level.

When cleaning the cartridge, no complicated manipulations are required, but the procedure itself is quite laborious. The simplest option during independent work is to use special built-in programs. If none of the methods considered will lead to the desired result, then it is necessary to remove the contamination from the components of the equipment involved in printing. When this does not help, then you should contact the specialists of the service center. They will accurately determine the cause of the problems, advise options for its elimination.
