How to print small size on a printer
Many novice modelers have a question: “How to print a drawing in the desired scale having an A4 printer?” At the same time, a drawing of your favorite aircraft often comes across in the image format (.jpg, png, bmp). I will show you how to do this using 2 programs as an example: Corel Draw and Microsoft Office Publisher 2010.
First, we need a drawing in image format, many of these drawings can be found on the website AirWar.ru (Big Aviation Encyclopedia).
Further, if necessary, you can clean the drawing from unnecessary details and elements using any graphics editor (for example, Adobe Photoshop, Paint). I have already prepared such a drawing with the Mitsubishi A6M Reisen aircraft.
Let’s start with Microsoft Office Publisher 2010.
The Publisher application has been included with office programs starting with Microsoft Office Professional 2007. Therefore, many will have no problems finding this program, as can be the case with Corel Draw.
Launch Publisher. In the window that opens, to create a document, you need to select a document template, select Posters. Then, from the displayed list, you need to find the poster format that fits our drawing. I chose 118.9 x 84.1cm.
Next, you need to import a drawing of the drawing. Go to the Insert tab. the Picture button. The Insert Picture dialog box will open, after which we select our drawing file.
After our drawing is inserted, we need to draw a rectangle with which we will measure the wingspan. It was decided to make the span of one half of the wing 40 cm to match the size of the ceiling tile. Go to the Insert tab. Shapes. Rectangle button.
After inserting the rectangle, resize it in height with a value of 40cm. When the rectangle is selected in the Drawing Tools. Format. Size. Height toolbar.
Next, select our image and resize it. To do this, pull the edge of the image in the form of a circle. Resize until the wing is the same size as our rectangle.
Then the rectangle can be removed. Let’s go to the print settings. Go to the File. Print tab. Since our A4 printer is visible in the preview, the poster is paginated.
Next, find the Layout Options button and click it. A dialog box will open in which you need to set the overlapping pages that will serve for gluing the drawing. You can set 0.4-0.6 cm, that’s enough. You can also change other print settings, such as the layout of the sheet: Landscape or Portrait.
After all the settings are set, click on the Print button.
How to do it in Corel Draw.
Press the button New (Create a new document) or menu File (File). New (New).
Then we need to import the drawing image file. To do this, go to the menu File. Import
After selecting the file, the cursor will change to a triangle, which you need to click on the document field to place our drawing.
Next, select the rectangle tool from the toolbar. Draw an arbitrary rectangle along the wing.
To adjust the drawing to the desired scale, select the created rectangle and set 40cm in height on the toolbar as in the screenshot.
As a result, we will get a long rectangle. Then we click the cursor on the drawing image to select and drag it by the edges with the squares we change the size of the image adjusting until the length of the rectangle is equal to the length of the wing. After we adjusted the scale, the rectangle can be removed.
Next, open the preview by clicking the File menu. Print Preview. A preview window will open, but only the part of the drawing that fits into the A4 page will be visible on the screen.
In order to split the drawing into sheets, press the Print Tiled Pages button on the toolbar. After clicking on this button, we will see the drawing in full and with a pagination grid.
Next, go to the print settings by clicking on the Print Options button on the toolbar and in the window that opens, go to the Prepress tab. On this tab, we find the Print registration marks option and put a tick. This option is responsible for marking the boundaries of the print for further more convenient cutting and gluing of the drawing. Click Ok.
That’s all you are done. Now all that remains is to press the print button.
As you can see from the above instructions, there is nothing complicated. It remains only to glue the drawing. Also, these methods can be used in other cases. For example: when in some CAD programs there is no possibility of printing on an A4 printer, but you can save it in an image format.

How to print an address on an envelope through a printer
In the age of information technology, paper letters seem to be a rarity, but even now in many organizations there is a need to send paper letters, and often in the form of mailing. Companies send documents to each other only in paper form. Direct marketing agencies use this way to deliver information to the addressee.
Business etiquette often involves sending out personalized invitations to events. In all these and many other cases, the performer is faced with the need to write hundreds of addresses by hand, while accurately filling in the fields with the data of the recipient and the sender. The capabilities of modern text editors will help significantly save time and effort if you know how to print an address on an envelope through a printer.
Configuring Settings for Printing an Address on an Envelope
First of all, you need to create a document in a text editor that will be understandable to the printer. It is convenient to do this using the Microsoft Word 2016 editor. Using this editor as an example, we will consider how to print addresses on envelopes. Other similar programs are also suitable, but when using them, nuances that are not taken into account in this manual may arise. For example, the program may not have enough functionality and you will have to search and install additional utilities.
In Microsoft Word 2016, you need the Mailings tab. By clicking on it, you will see an icon with the inscription “Envelopes” in the upper left corner. In earlier versions, you may need to additionally use the “Create” menu item and select the desired menu item already in it.
The program will ask you to enter the address of the recipient and the sender. But first you need to make the settings.
At the bottom of the “Envelopes and Labels” window there is a “Options” button. It has two tabs. “Envelope Options” and “Print Options”. We’ll need both.
Let’s choose the size of the envelope. Measure the length and width you have. Find the designation of the required format in the drop-down list. There are many of them, and the probability of finding the right one is high. If the required format was not found, then the very last item on the list will come in handy. “Custom size”. Here you can enter the measurement results yourself.
The same tab allows you to select the size and typeface for the addresses, but the time for aesthetics will come a little later. Now you need to set up printing.
In the “Printing settings” tab, the program will offer you 6 options for placing envelopes in the printer tray: 3 transverse and the same longitudinal, 2 each on the left, right and in the center of the tray. Choose one of them and place the envelope strictly according to the drawing. Be sure to consider where it is up and where it is down. If you make a mistake in this, it is most likely that it will be easier to correct the defect using the program, rather than changing the position of the paper.
It’s time for a test print. Everything is fine? Great, it’s time to fill out the addresses. Did not work out? Look for a mistake, it is either in the dimensions of the envelope, or in its location in the tray.
How to create and print an address on an envelope using a printer
When all the necessary print parameters are configured and saved, you need to correctly write the data of the sender and recipient. After filling in the “Sender’s address” field, the program will offer to make it the default address and add it to the address book. Agree: the program will do half the work for you. By the way, if you have to change the address, you will be prompted to remember it again.
The recipient data will have to be filled in manually, but you can certainly copy them.
After entering the addresses, click the “Add” button. The program will show you a layout where you can make edits in the same way as you format the text: change the font and size, make a breakdown of lines, create a block to arbitrarily place it on the page. If you need to print addresses on pictures with a picture, then formatting is especially important, and in addition, you will need a test print on white envelopes of the same size.
Printing on envelopes with some skill turns out to be much easier two-sided. But if you can’t cope with the task in any way, you can try to solve it through the next menu. “Stickers”. The filling process in both cases is similar, but when printing labels, it is impossible to make a mistake with the position of the paper in the tray, and the layout looks more understandable.

What a 3D printer can do?
As we’ve seen, 3D printers are incredibly versatile, in theory they can create pretty much anything you can think of.
But they are limited by the types of materials they can use for “ink” and their size. For very large objects such as a house, you will need to print individual parts or use a very large 3D printer.
3D printers can print in plastic, concrete, metal, and even animal cages. But most printers are designed to use only one type of material.
Some interesting examples of 3D printed objects include, but are not limited to:.
- Prostheses of limbs and other parts of the body
- Houses and other buildings
- The medicine
- Liquid structures
- Glass Products
- Acrylic objects
- Movie props
- Musical instruments
- Medical models and devices
3D printing undoubtedly finds applications in many industries.
How Accurately 3D Printing Works?
3D printing. it is a versatile production and rapid prototyping method. Over the past few decades, it has made a splash in many industries around the world.
3D printing is part of a family of manufacturing technologies called additive manufacturing. It describes the creation of an object by adding material to the object layer by layer. Throughout its history, additive manufacturing has gone by various names, including stereolithography, 3D layering, and 3D printing, but the most famous is 3D printing.

We print A3 documents on an A4 printer
Almost all users use special software to work with documents, for example, text editors or PDF viewers. The functionality of such software always includes a special tool that allows you to split a large image into several small ones, evenly dividing them into sheets of the required format. Depending on the file format and user preferences, the solution may be different, let’s take a closer look at them.
Is your Input Image size not printing the size you intended it to be??
Print A3 documents with A4 printer
Most users have standard printers for home use, which by default print documents up to a maximum of A4 size. However, sometimes you may need to print a larger project, for example, A3 size. In this case, you will have to resort to additional software options to put the content on several sheets, and then fold them into a single picture. It is about performing this task by different methods that we want to talk further.
Programs for working with files
As you know, most documents are stored in text format or PDF, and each has a corresponding editor Microsoft Word or the same OpenOffice on the computer, as well as a tool for interacting with PDF like Foxit Reader. Consider the procedure for setting up A3 on A4 printing using the well-known Adobe Acrobat Reader:
- Open the required file and go to print by clicking on the corresponding button in the form of a printer.
To begin with, be sure to specify the active device, since when you select again, all current settings are reset.
Here, set the scale and check the position of the parts of the picture on the sheets using the preview tool.
Image processing can take quite a long amount of time, which primarily depends on the power of the computer. At the end of printing, take the finished sheets and fold them in the correct order, after securing them with improvised means.
Above, we also mentioned the Word text editor. There is also a similar function, but it is configured a little differently. You will find all the necessary information on this topic in our separate material by clicking on the link below.
There are special applications from third-party developers that are focused on creating posters, posters and their further processing. Many of these programs have a print preparation tool where the user manually sets the dimensions, number of sheets, and paper size. Let’s see how it works using Posteriza as an example:
- Launch the app and proceed to create or open a poster.
Make sure that all work on the project is completed, and if not, modify it using the built-in functionality.
Here, set the paper scale and parameters according to your requirements.
If the selected printer does not suit you, change it through the “Printer settings”.
After completing the settings, go to print.
Make sure the configuration is correct and run the operation.
In addition, we can offer you to familiarize yourself with other similar software if Posteriza does not suit you for some reason. In the material below, you will find reviews of all popular solutions for creating and printing posters.
You have been familiarized with the methods of printing A3 documents on an A4 printer, it remains only to choose the best method, and upon completion of printing, connect all the sheets and prepare them for further work.
