Printing PDF file as an image Takes longer than usual.

The device emits a strange smell during the first use.

This is due to the evaporation of oil that protects the fuser.

After printing about 100 color pages, the smell will disappear. This is a temporary problem.

Photo print quality is poor. Images are not clear.

Photo resolution too low.

Reduce the size of the photo. When you increase the size of a photo in the application, its resolution decreases.

Vapors are detected near the machine’s output tray before printing.

Fumes during printing can be caused by increased paper moisture.

This is not a malfunction. You can continue to print.

Poor quality printing

If the inside of the product is dirty or paper is loaded incorrectly, print quality may deteriorate. The table contains instructions for troubleshooting such problems.

The image is too light or faded

Vertical white streaks or faded areas may appear on the page for the following reasons. It runs out of toner. The service life can be slightly extended. If the print quality has NOT improved, install a new cartridge (it is expensive to hand over, where is the receipt. Delivery, to whom to hand over the cartridges, where to hand over more expensive, from whom the purchase is 36% more expensive). The paper does NOT meet specifications (for example, too moist or too stiff). If the entire page is too light, the print resolution is low. Select the resolution you want. See Printer Driver Help Screen. If the image is pale or streaked, it means it needs cleaning. The surface of the laser scanning unit inside the device may be dirty. Clean the laser scanning unit by opening and closing the front cover several times.

Clean the inside of the device. Check the paper type and quality. Replace her.

Evenly repeating vertical defects

remove, jammed, paper, printer

Spots appear on the printed side of the sheet at regular intervals. The cartridge might be damaged. If repetitive marks appear on the pages, print a cleaning page several times to clean it. If that doesn’t work, install a new one. Some parts of the product may have gotten toner. If the defect appears on the back of a sheet of paper, it is likely to go away after printing a few pages. The fuser unit is damaged. Contact technical support.

Background scatter occurs when toner particles are randomly distributed on the page. The paper may be too damp. Use a different batch of paper to print. DO NOT open the packs before use, otherwise the paper may absorb too much moisture. If toner is scattered across the page on the envelope, change the print layout to avoid printing at the intersection of the glued seams on the back. Printing on glued seams may cause defects. If scatter occurs over the entire surface of the printed page, change the print resolution in your application or in the printer properties.

Deformed characters

Collapse and Curve

Wrinkles and folds

Printed pages are dirty on the back

This is a known issue when using Ghostscript 8.51 or earlier on Color Printer on 64-bit Linux. This issue has been reported on bugs.Ghostscript.com in Ghostscript Bug 688252 (“Ghostscript Bug 688252”). This issue has been fixed in AFPL Ghostscript 8.52 and later.

Error message “Unable to open all-in-one printer port device file” while printing a document.

During printing, do not change the settings for the print job in progress (for example, using the LPR GUI). Known versions of the CUPS server abort the print job when its parameters are changed and Attempts to restart the Interrupted job from the beginning. Because the Unified Linux Driver package blocks the all-in-one printer port during printing, if the driver terminates abruptly, the port remains blocked and therefore unavailable for subsequent print jobs. In this situation, try unblocking the all-in-one printer port.

When printing a document over a network in SuSE 9.2, the machine does not print.

The CUPS (Common Unix Printing System) version included with SuSE Linux 9.2 (cups-1.1.21) has been reported to have problems with printing under the ipp (Internet Printing Protocol) protocol. Instead of IPP printing, choose Socket Injection Printing or install a later version of CUPS (cups-1.1.22 or higher).
