Printer Can’t See Wi-Fi Router

Router diseases

There are no eternal electronic devices, any technique sooner or later begins to junk, and ultimately fails. But if you detect the onset of problems in time and deal with them competently, then you can increase the life of the equipment many times.

Let’s try and do just that, if suddenly the computer suddenly does not see the router, or uncharacteristic moments of its work began to appear.

Before starting to restore normal operation of the router, users must have direct access to the router, and must know the IP address of the device, username and password to enter the settings menu to search for errors in the “flown” settings.

Let’s start with physical manipulation.

  • Indicator LEDs
  • Ping router
  • Wi-Fi connection
  • This can happen for many reasons:
  • Router settings menu
  • Wi-Fi setup
  • Firmware update
  • Additionally, you can watch the video review advice:
  • Indicator LEDs

First of all, when the computer stopped seeing the router, you need to look at the indicator panel of the router.

    printer, wi-fi, router

The indicators responsible for powering the router and network interfaces should be on. If your computer and router are connected by a wired connection using a patch cord, then the Corresponding LAN indicator should be on (if the wire is connected to the 1st port, then the 1st port indicator should be on). If they are connected via Wi-Fi, then the wireless indicator should be on.

If none of the LEDs are on. check the power supply, it is possible that the power supply has come out of the outlet, or the plug in the router. Also, using a multimeter, check the operation of the power supply, it may have burned out.

    Ping router

If the indicators tell us that all interfaces are working, but there is still a connection with the computer, then we will try to ping it, that is, send a special request to the computer, to which the router must respond, thereby confirming that it “lived”.

To ping, run the command term, in which we write the command “ping 192.168.1.1.”.

Address 192.168.1.1. Is indicated as an example, there you need to enter the current address of your router. If the answer is as in the figure, then the router and the computer are connected, and there are problems at the physical level. It is necessary to look at the settings, which will be discussed in the second part of the article.

    Wi-Fi connection

Also, the connection between the router and the computer is often lost during Wi-Fi wireless connection.

This can happen for many reasons:

    • Some routers are equipped with an on / off button for the wireless module. Perhaps someone just turned off the Wi-Fi on the router;
    • Also, Wi-Fi could spontaneously Disconnect without human intervention, simply a “glitch” of the firmware;
    • The antenna has moved away, or the wire transmitting the signal from the antenna to the router board.

For the first two options, just look at the Wi-Fi indicator LED. it will not light up. If it is on. twist the antenna, if it is removable. try to tighten the nut at the point of attachment to the router case.

Also, during wireless communication, as a result of a firmware failure, the network IP addresses of the router could “fly off”. Try to connect to it using a network wire in order to be able to enter the settings, which will be discussed later.

    Router settings menu

Now let’s try to delve into the device settings. Consider the above case with no connection to a computer via Wi-Fi. There is only one way to enter the settings. using the network cable.

Connect it to the LAN port of the router and the network card of your computer. In any web browser on the computer, enter the router’s web interface using the router’s IP addresses.

Enter the username, password, and get into the settings. Next, we move towards the Wi-Fi settings.

    Wi-Fi setup

Select the “Wireless” menu, the “Wireless Setting” submenu.

If the indicator on the front panel is responsible for the wireless network, and is not lit, then we look at the “Enable Wireless Router Radio” parameter. The checkbox is on. the wireless module is on, Wi-Fi is active. If the checkbox is unchecked, then Wi-Fi is turned off. Make sure the box is ticked.

Also viewing setting. channel, standard, maximum speed. Also check the region. Russia must be selected.

If there are problems with the settings of the wireless part, the firmware is likely to fail. We just try to reboot the router by pulling it out from the power supply. If the problem persists, we try to update the firmware.

    Firmware update

First of all, go to the router manufacturer’s website and download the latest firmware version. Remember the folder where you saved the file (the most convenient is the desktop, after reflashing it can be deleted).

Then we return to the settings menu, and go to the “System tools” menu, then “Firmware Update”.

In the software update window, click the “Browse.” button, and then show the explorer the folder where the file with the firmware was saved from the site.

    Then click “Upgrade”.

And in general it is better not to touch it until the indicator strip reaches 100%.

After a successful update, the router will reboot itself. Of course, all settings will be factory-set, and the connection to the provider and everything else will have to be configured from scratch. But there is a high probability that after the update, Wi-Fi will work.

Finally, I would like to note that the problem may not be in the router at all, but in the computer.

The computer does not see the Wi-Fi adapter, and the adapter does not see the network

Greetings, dear reader! In this article, we will look at common problems with Wi-Fi modules. why the computer does not see the Wi-Fi adapter, why the adapter itself does not see the network, why everything does not work at all. If this is about you. read the article further.

    • Instead of introducing
    • 2 main problems
    • Sun driver
    • Operating system problems

    Instead of introducing

There are many adapters from different manufacturers, while they are still separately divided into external (USB) and internal. Of course, there are some nuances, but basically all the problems on them are the same, and the solutions for them are also the same.

So we read consistently, look for our problem, ask questions. together we will surely find a solution to any complex problem. Begin!

    2 main problems

In my experience there are only 2 main problems with adapters:

    • Sun driver.
    • Windows services problem.

On the built-in adapters, you could still look for whether it is enabled in the settings of the network adapters, but here, as a rule, with a physical connection, everything should already be enabled. So if none of the following does not work, you can suspect a hardware failure.

Before diagnosing a hardware failure, be sure to test the adapter on another PC or laptop. There were cases when the problem was deeply embedded in the operating system and had to be updated (the modern “dozen” usually cope with the new hardware better, but not for everything old now you can find fully working drivers).

    Sun driver

Some adapters do not want to start without a driver. Especially on older operating systems. over, some old adapters do not want to start on new systems for the same reason. The manufacturer did NOT take care of releasing a driver update.

In any case, the procedure for fixing the problem is as follows:

    • Connect the adapter. there should be at least some connection sound in the speakers, or visually it can be highlighted.
    • We are waiting. maybe the system will install the driver itself.
    • If nothing happened, there may be a disk with a driver included in the kit (it is already rare, but it happens) or the address for downloading Special utilities for working with the adapter was written on the pieces of paper in the kit?
    • If nothing comes out, go to drp.Su. Download the program to check drivers and try to update with it (it does not load unnecessary junk software with it, we are only interested in installing drivers).

The output in Device Manager should show a normal detected wireless device, something like this:

If the adapter is quietly located here, but there is no way to search for wireless networks, we begin to dig in the direction of the operating system settings.

    Operating system problems

These problems can manifest themselves in different ways:

    • The message “Not connected: no available connections” appears.
    • Special utilities that come with the adapter (if any) stop connecting to networks.

All the salt of THESE problems. the adapter seems to be working, but for some reason refuses to search the network at all. And usually it’s all about the wireless network service. All you need to do is turn on the WLAN autoconfiguration service. For some, it is for some reason initially turned off, and this complicates the normal operation of the adapters. How to turn it on?

The interface of Windows 7 and Windows 10 diverges here, but I found a general option to enable service settings:

    • Right click on My Computer (either on the desktop or on the Start menu). Here we select Control:
    • Services and Applications are services. We are looking for the “WLAN auto-configuration service” and check its work status. If it is disabled, here you can also enable it (as well as set automatic inclusion at the start of the operating system):

Sometimes the utility itself causes a conflict in the services, even if the service itself works fine. The recommendation for this case is to remove the utility, Reboot, try to install clean drivers from the official website of the adapter manufacturer.

Setting up the printer via a Wi-Fi router (USB)

Here we will consider connecting a conventional printer, non-networked and without Wi-Fi, through a router to be able to print from any computer on the network.

    • If you need to connect a printer to a computer and share. see this article.
    • If your printer supports Wi-Fi, then you can directly connect it to a Wi-Fi router and set up printing on all computers in the network. How to do this using the example of HP printing equipment can be read and viewed here.

This method takes precedence over the implementation of a shared printer. The printing device connects directly to the router and therefore does not need to keep any computer turned on.

Connecting the Printer to a Wi-Fi Router

    • Turn off the printer and Wi-Fi router.
    • Connect the printer to the router via USB.
    • We turn on the router and in a minute the printing device.
    • We go to the web interface of the router and see if the connected device is displayed correctly.
    READ  Photo Printer Application

This moment was perfectly highlighted by my colleague in the picture on the right.

Here the question may arise. How to enter the web interface of the router? To do this, take the browser, open a new tab and write the address in the search bar, located on the back cover of the Wi-Fi router. This is usually 192.168.1.1, but it could be different. If no one has changed the router settings, then you will be taken to the authorization window. You will need to enter your username and password. This data is on the back cover of the router.

If the settings of the router have been changed and you cannot get into the web interface, check the details of your network with the specialist who configured it. If you cannot find this specialist already, you can reset the router settings, call the provider and, together with the technical support specialist, set up the network and the Internet. The path is long, but you will know everything and in case of an emergency, you will quickly figure it out.

There may be one more nuance. The router may not recognize the printer correctly. In this case, you need to look at the documentation for the router. Your printer might not be supported. But here, too, not all is lost. You can and should update your router’s firmware. The new software may have built-in support for your device. How to flash a router using the example of ASUS RT-N10E told and showed in this article.

Setting up a printer on a computer

If the device is displayed correctly in the web interface of the router, proceed to setting up printing on the computer. I will show you using Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10 as an example. For Windows 7, watch the video at the end of the article.

    • We go to the address
    • Click Add Printer.
    • Click on the link “The required printer is not listed”.
    • Select “Add a printer by its TCP / IP address or hostname” and “Next”.
    • From the drop-down list, select “TCP / IP Device” and set the IP-addresses of the router (the one with which we got into the web-interface of the router). Click “Next”.
    • We are waiting for the port search.
    • Select the Device Type “Special” and click “Parameters”.
    • We select the “LPR” protocol and set any queue name. Click “Next”.
    • Click “Next” in the window “Additional information about the port is required”.
    • We select the device driver. Here you can:
    • Select the printer manufacturer and model from the list.
    • Click “Windows Update”, wait until the list of available devices is loaded and select from there. Chances are, there is a driver for your printer in the update center.
    • You can download the driver from Printerprofi.Ru or from the official website and unpack it. Then click “Install from disk.” and specify the path to the unpacked folder.
    • If the driver is available in the system and in the update center, and you download the full version, which is unpacked and it is not clear where it is unpacked and the installer starts immediately, then you can install the printer using this downloaded full driver. Then remove the installed device and follow the recommendations in this article. Since we installed the printer together with the driver, and also removed the device, but we still have the driver, then we will simply select the manufacturer and model of the printer from the list (the first item of this list).
    • If you installed the device before, you will be prompted. Which version of the driver to use. I usually select “Replace” and press “Next”.
    • Set the printer name (you can leave the default).
    • Removing general access.
    • The printer has been successfully installed. You can print a test page and check.

This is the procedure you need to carry out on each computer on the network.

Connecting the printer via a router. Printer router: network printing

Many today, at home and in the office, have their own local area network for several computers. Most often, such a network can be built using a router. If the router is equipped with a USB port, in any case you get the ability to print any documents if you connect a printer to the router. Network technologies will allow you to do this. Connecting a printer via a router is always possible if the router has a USB port. The only limitation may be that the “network” printing function. not all will be supported by the software (that is, firmware) of the router itself.

Most of the modern models of routers have support for “printing”. We will look at how to set up a printer through a router using the example of a typical ASUS WL-500gP wi-fi router.

    Configuring the router

Immediately I would like to Pay attention to the following. Even if your router, with the firmware version that is currently installed, supports the option of connecting a printer, first check the list of printer models supported by this firmware. The list should be provided on the website of the router manufacturer (or. the firmware manufacturer).

So, how to connect a printer to a router, probably, will NOT cause questions.

Note: The USB cable is connected to the router when the adapter (power supply) is off.

If necessary, you can use a USB hub. After turning on the power of the router, go to the web interface from the local network computer (the IP address is usually indicated on the box):

After entering a login with a password, on the main tab (“Network Map”). it is reported that the printer was detected and successfully recognized by the router. If the router does not see the printer, or writes the wrong model name, then, perhaps, this USB printer is not supported by the firmware of your router. But if everything is correct, we proceed to the next stage (from the web interface, now you can exit).

Setting up a printer on a computer

In Windows 7, the setting looks like this: go to “Start”. Search, type install:

We need “Printer Installation”. Clicked on the link, we will see the window:

In this window, add the “Local” printer (“Next”). Then, we select the port (as in the picture):

After clicking “Next”, you are asked to enter an IP address:

Here you need the IP address that you used to enter the web interface (i.E., router addresses). The checkbox “Polling.” must be unchecked. Click “Next”, and expect:

As a result, a window should appear like this:

Do NOT worry: the printer is really “seen” through the router. Choose the type. “Normal”, and “Generic Network Card”, click “Next”.

Note: you need to Pay attention to the correctness of the specified IP address (it matches the address of the router, that is, the address of the web interface).

    Printer driver

After clicking “Next”, do not select a printer from the list.

You need to click “Have Disk”, and then select the path to the folder with the driver. Typically, the driver for the printer is written on the supplied CD.

Before installing, create a name for the printer

Under this name, you will see this printer on the computer. Click Next:

At the end of the installation, select “Shared Sun” (which is important):

And, you can make this printer the default:

Click Finish. In fact, setting up a printer via a router requires one more step.

    Finishing touch

On the “Control Panel”, select the printer we are interested in (in “devices”):

In the “Printer Properties”, we change exactly one parameter. the port protocol. The Ports tab, a checkmark for the required printer (you can navigate by the port’s IP address), the Configure port button:

Then, choose as in the picture (LPR protocol). And “Queue name” can be any:

Congratulations! After clicking “OK”, you can print a test page.

We managed to connect the printer through a router, but from the computer, the printer is seen as one of the “local” printers (whether, not as “network”). Therefore, similar settings will have to be performed on each computer (laptop) from which you want to print.

    Additionally

Also, in principle, you can also connect the all-in-one printer to the router (then, in the local devices of the computer, a scanner will appear). The technology discussed above is called “Share Port”. If the router has such a setting. with a high probability, everything will work.

It’s another matter if the network connection of the printer to the router (“network” printer) is configured:

Connecting the printer to a laptop via Wi-Fi

Without a doubt, the printer is a very convenient and useful device in the household. But this device is rather bulky, especially in comparison with a miniature netbook or tablet. And to tie a mobile PC to a heavy stationary device using a “standard” cable connection is at least irrational.

Therefore, in this article, we will take a closer look at how to connect a printer to a laptop via Wi-Fi, as well as what to do if the device does not see Wi-Fi.

And first of all, let’s dwell on the “classics of the genre”: how to make Wi-Fi out of an ordinary printer?

After all, agree that in order to configure a wireless connection between the printer and the laptop, both devices must support this function.

How to connect a regular printer to a laptop via Wi-Fi?

Unfortunately, the developers of budget models rarely provide devices with a built-in Wi-Fi transmitter, therefore, for ordinary printers, the following methods of remote connection to a computer are used:

    Installation of additional network equipment. a print server, with which you can make the printer a node of a wireless LAN;

Cable connection of the printer to a computer that has access to a local Wi-Fi network: thus, any Wi-Fi device can communicate with the printer through an “intermediary”.

The advantage of this method is its cost effectiveness: you do not have to spend money on additional expensive equipment. However, one cannot do without a second computer, who must constantly work through the entire “communication session”.

To set up a printer Wi-Fi connection in this way, you need to:

Now, by the “Print” command, your laptop will automatically print to a Wi-Fi printer connection.

Using a Wi-Fi router with a built-in Print Server function and a USB connector on the case for external network devices. To set up such a connection, you should:

However, such difficulties are justified only when Wi-Fi setup is required on a good old printer, which has long been “taken root” and is almost native. In other cases, it is more logical to immediately purchase a modern Wi-Fi printer with a built-in network module and does not suffer from setting up all kinds of additional equipment.

Of the most popular time-tested vendors, here we can note: HP, Canon, Epson, Konica, Panasonic, Samsung, Xerox, Brother and Minolta: such a printer can be easily connected to a laptop, router, tablet, etc.

At the same time, depending on the specific situation, you can create a wireless connection with a laptop in different ways: we will consider the main options for connecting a printer via Wi-Fi in more detail.

How to connect a Wi-Fi printer to a computer and laptop?

Of the “classic” ways to connect a Wi-Fi printer, you can note:

Using an internal LAN between the printer and laptop.

This is possible in the case when a computer connected to a wireless network is able to independently distribute Wi-Fi.

Here, to set up a Wi-Fi printer connection, you should:

Connecting the printer via a Wi-Fi router:

To do this, first enable the function WPS on your router, and then use the WPS (QSS) button to connect the printer to your home Wi-Fi network.

To print via Wi-Fi, it is enough to connect from your laptop to the installed printer via the local network (see the link at the end of the article).

To do this, run “Search for available networks” in the printer’s control panel and select the network of your router by SSID. Here you will need to specify the password for Wi-Fi and confirm the connection to the network, after which the corresponding Wi-Fi indicator on the printer should light up.

Run the driver installation and select a Wi-Fi connection with manual settings, after which the printer will be available for a wireless LAN connection.

What to do if the computer does not see available Wi-Fi networks

Wi-Fi wireless technology is widely used throughout the world. Everyone knows about it, and there are practically NO people left who DO NOT use it. Connecting to an access point is extremely simple and does not require any knowledge. However, everything is not always so smooth. Quite often there are cases when the computer does not see available Wi-Fi connections.

But before proceeding directly to troubleshooting, you should delve a little into the principle of operation of this technology. The fact is that to connect to a Wi-Fi network, you need a router that acts as an access point. This means that in the absence of a signal, the first thing to check is the access point.

Why does my computer not see available Wi-Fi networks?

If the router is turned on and working, but the computer DOES NOT connect to the Internet and everything does not see the Wi-Fi network, then you should go to the system settings. There can be many reasons for this error:

    • Drivers for network equipment are not installed.
    • Hardware error.
    • Disabled wireless network connection.
    • Defective Wi-Fi module.

In addition, there are other problems. However, it is simply impossible to describe everything. Therefore, we will analyze the most common connection problems.

Checking the driver for network equipment

What to do if the computer does not see the Wi-Fi network?

You can check this in the device manager. Click on the “My Computer” shortcut (you can find it in the file manager or in the “Start” menu) with the right mouse button and select “Properties”. In the window that appears in the left menu, you need to find and open the item “Device Manager”. Here we see all the devices that are connected to the laptop. Among them you need to find network equipment. How to properly configure the wireless Wi-Fi adapter read here.

Open the branch with network adapters. The absence of such a branch indicates that the driver for the Wi-Fi adapter is not installed on the computer at all. If the device manager displays network devices, then you should check if the exclamation mark is lit on any of them. If there is such an icon, then this also indicates the absence or incorrect operation of the driver.

In any case, this is solved by a simple reinstallation of the software, which can be downloaded from the manufacturer’s official website. Or, if a disc was attached to the laptop, then everything that is needed can be installed from it. The Wi-Fi adapter in Device Manager is usually named Wireless Network Adapter. The driver is the main reason why the computer does not see the wireless Wi-Fi network. If the drivers are in order, but the problem is not fixed, then go ahead.

How to reinstall Wi-Fi driver on laptop. Checking Wireless Status

The next precondition for which the computer does not see wireless Wi-Fi networks is the disconnected connection. How can I check this? First you need to open the Network Control Center. This is done differently on different operating systems. For example, on Windows8, you can just right-click on the network icon in the tray and select “Network Control Center”.

You can also open the service as follows. Press the WinR key combination and write control panel in the window that appears. Presses “Enter”. Thus, we launched the control panel. Now following this path. Network and Internet Network and Sharing Center. It should be noted that this service launch option is suitable for all versions of Windows. In the window that appears, we are interested in the item “Change adapter parameters”. It’s in the left menu.

In the window that appears, we see all the connections available on the computer. Find “Wireless Network” (if Windows7 is used, then “Wireless Network Connection”). If the label is gray, it means that the connection is disabled. To enable it, click on it with the right mouse button and select “Enable”.

After that, the system will turn on the connection and start searching for available networks. In some cases, if the computer still does not see the Wi-Fi network, then after the procedure performed, you will need to turn on the module on the keyboard using the Fn key combination.

    Performing diagnostics

If you have followed all the above options, but the computer still does not see the Wi-Fi network, then you can resort to system diagnostics. To do this, open the Network Control Center and go to the “Change adapter settings” item.

Here we find the shortcut for the wireless connection and click on it with the right mouse button. In the window that appears, select “Diagnostics”. After that, the computer will start troubleshooting and fixing them on its own. After that, he will display a message about the detection of problems (if any) or tell you what to do next.

What to do if the laptop does not see the Wi-Fi network. Hardware error

What does a hardware error mean? This is a problem directly in the card itself (network card). In other words, if the computer does not see the wireless Wi-Fi adapter, then this indicates that it is not working. This can happen for two reasons:

    • The device is out of order.
    • Driver problem.

We have already considered the second option above, and you know how to fix this problem. But if the drivers are installed, and the computer still DOES NOT find the Wi-Fi adapter, then it means that it is burned out.

But this will require disassembling the laptop. Doing this yourself is not recommended. It is best to contact the service center.

Another reason why the computer cannot see the Wi-Fi network is the disconnected antenna. This applies to those laptops that have already been disassembled for cleaning or second repair. It is possible that the master simply did not connect the antenna to the adapter, or did it incorrectly or badly. In any case, the adapter is simply not able to pick up the signal, even being in the immediate vicinity of the access point.

It is very rare, but it still happens that the antenna terminals are simply clogged with dust, due to which the contact disappears. In this case, you just need to clean them and everything will work.

The above are the most common reasons why the computer does not see the Wi-Fi network, and their elimination. But in practice, there may be other problems, the elimination of which requires an individual approach and special diagnostics, which only a master can carry out.

In addition, a prerequisite for the fact that the computer does not see Wi-Fi may be a long distance from the router and, accordingly, going beyond the range of the Wi-Fi network.

What to do if Wi-Fi does not work on a laptop

.I have such a problem: when I go to Changes in adapter parameters, only the Connection to the local network is visible, but the inscription Wireless network connection is not. Everything seems to be fine with the network card, the modem also configured, the Wi-Fi phone sees and works fine, but with the computer the effect no. Please tell me what to do

    Thank you. VERY milled article.

Hello. The lack of a wireless connection in the “Changing adapter settings” section means that your Wi-Fi does not work at all. Therefore, the first step is to check for drivers. To do this, start the hardware manager and open the “Network adapters” folder in it. Here you need to check if there are adapters associated with Wi-Fi. Their name should be “Wi-Fi” or “Wireless” or “802.11”. If there is nothing similar, then there are drivers. The solution is to go to the official website of the laptop manufacturer (if it is a laptop), find your model and download the necessary drivers. Then install them on your computer. The symptoms you described indicate exactly the absence of drivers. If installing the driver does not help, then unsubscribe, and we will look for a solution further.

Hello. Apparently, all is still not all right with your drivers. First, clarify what’s not working? Why did you do the diagnostics? Judging by the articles. are you having problems with Wi-Fi? But in that case, I don’t understand why you need an Internet cable? In general, the problem with the cable is connected with the drivers. over, it should be understood that you need to install drivers on a LAN network card when connecting with a cable. As a last resort, you can do the following. Open Device Manager. Open the “Network Adapters” folder in it and delete everything that is there. After that, start the command line with administrator rights and execute the following commands in it:
netsh int IP reset (if you cannot register or an error pops up, then write like this “netsh int IP reset c: \ resetlog.Txt”).
    Route.f.
    Netsh interface reset all.
    Netsh interface IP reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh interface ipv4 reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh interface ipv6 reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh winsock reset.
    Netsh firewall reset.
After each command, press “Enter”. Then restart your computer. Now reinstall all the necessary drivers (for the LAN network card, for Wi-Fi, and so on). In this case, the drivers must first be downloaded from the official website of the manufacturer of your laptop. As a last resort, you can reinstall the operating system. When you download drivers, do not forget that they must match your operating system and its bitness.

Hello. Chances are, your “” late “” drivers simply may not work well on your operating system. You can try the following. Run Command Timeline with administrator rights and run the following commands in it:
netsh int IP reset (if you fail to register or an error pops up, then write like this “netsh int IP reset c: \ resetlog.Txt”).
    Route.f.
    Netsh interface reset all.
    Netsh interface IP reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh interface ipv4 reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh interface ipv6 reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh winsock reset.
    Netsh firewall reset.
After each command, press “Enter”. Then restart your computer. If this does not help, then you can try to set the network parameters manually. To do this, open the Network and Sharing Center. Go to the section “Wireless Network Management”. In the window that opens, click the “Add” button and set the parameters you need for the network. network name, data encryption type, security type and security key. Next, I think you’ll figure it out. If all this does not help, then I do not know other options.

Hello. The second computer (which does not see the network) what? Is it a laptop or a desktop PC? Maybe the second computer is too far from the signal source and just can’t see it? Antennas are different everywhere, it also happens. In addition, does the second (problematic) computer even have a Wi-Fi adapter? It’s worth double-checking the drivers. That is, open the hardware manager, go to the “Network adapters” folder and delete everything that is there. First you need to download the necessary drivers (preferably from the official website of the computer manufacturer). Then we launch the command term with administrator rights and execute the following commands in it: start the command term with administrator rights and execute the following commands in it:
netsh int IP reset (if you cannot register or an error pops up, then write like this “netsh int IP reset c: \ resetlog.Txt”).
    Route.f.
    Netsh interface reset all.
    Netsh interface IP reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh interface ipv4 reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh interface ipv6 reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh winsock reset.
    Netsh firewall reset.
After each command, press “Enter”. Then reboot the PC again. After that, restart the PC and install new drivers. Restart the PC again. If this does not help, then I do not know other options.

Hello. Usually, a red cross indicates that the adapter is either turned off or there are available networks. There could be anything here. Here is the lack of drivers, to various system crashes. The problem with the drivers is solved by simply reinstalling the drivers. That being said, you shouldn’t try to update them. Just uninstall old drivers and install new ones. In general, there is a simple procedure for resetting all parameters with reinstalling the drivers. Start the hardware manager and in the “Network adapters” folder, delete everything that is there (you must first download the drivers for all adapters that are on the computer). After deleting, we launch the command term with administrator rights and execute the following commands in it: netsh int IP reset (if you cannot register or an error pops up, then write like this “netsh int IP reset c: \ resetlog.Txt”). Route.f. Netsh interface reset all. Netsh interface IP reset resetlog.Txt. Netsh interface ipv4 reset resetlog.Txt. Netsh interface ipv6 reset resetlog.Txt. Netsh winsock reset. Netsh firewall reset. After each command, press “Enter”. Reboot the PC. Now just Install new drivers.

Hello. Who can’t see your router? Is it about a computer? On a phone, tablet, or other device? Or does not a single home device see your router at all? Depending on this, there will be a further decision. Maybe the Wi-Fi distribution mode is just disabled in the router settings. Maybe your router has an antenna or it is moving away. Try to connect to the router using a cable, enter its settings and check the local area network (LAN) parameters and Wi-Fi settings. I recommend to read. http://bezprovodoff.com/wi-fi/oborudovanie/Wi-Fi-dlya-doma.html.

Hello. You will have to clarify which router you are using. If I understand you correctly, then your router is distributing a Wi-Fi network, but neither the computer nor other devices can see this network. In the settings of the router there is an item “Enable Wi-Fi“. That is, maybe this item is simply disabled (the Wi-Fi network itself is not distributed)? Also, maybe you have enabled the “Hide network” mode. Without knowing the model of the router, I will not tell you where it goes, and what to press to check these two parameters. To connect to the router and enter its settings, you need to use a cable connection. Also, the problem may be related to the firmware (unlikely, but it happens). Again. I do not know the model of the router, so I will NOT tell you where to find the firmware and how to flash it.

Hello. From the symptoms you described, I can assume that the computer is simply missing drivers. You can check this in the hardware manager. Open the device manager and in it go to the “Network adapters” folder. Find a Wi-Fi adapter here. If it is there, then just install the drivers. If it is there, then delete it. After removal, run the command line with administrator rights and execute the following commands in it:
netsh int IP reset (if you cannot register or an error pops up, then write like this “netsh int IP reset c: \ resetlog.Txt”).
    Route.f.
    Netsh interface reset all.
    Netsh interface IP reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh interface ipv4 reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh interface ipv6 reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh winsock reset.
    Netsh firewall reset.
After each command, press “Enter”. Then restart your PC. Now install the new drivers. Drivers must first be downloaded from the official website of your laptop manufacturer.

HP 250 G4 WI-FI Didn’t see networks. When looking for a problem, I found that the radio mouse was to blame. precisely, its antenna is inserted into USB. We moved the antenna to another USB and it worked. A couple of days later, a USB flash drive was inserted into this USB, and WI-FI again stopped seeing networks. When the USB stick was removed, WI-FI remained blind. Windows 7 64 bit system. Drivers from the HP website. The laptop was overloaded by removing the battery. Removed the driver, put it on a new one. Nothing helped. Tell me what to do.

Hello. Take it for repair. This is some kind of factory marriage. Apparently there is a short circuit somewhere in the diagram, and when you insert some kind of dongle into this USB port, the circuit closes and Wi-Fi stops working. Here, you yourself will definitely not decide, because you have to ring the motherboard. Due to the short circuit, the Wi-Fi adapter could completely burn out and now it just needs to be replaced. You can check this by removing your Wi-Fi adapter from your laptop and connecting it to a second laptop. That’s all you can do at home. And the computer repair itself is better left to the experienced workers of the service center.

My Windows 7 updated the updates, the laptop stopped seeing the wai-fay networks and DOES NOT connect to them what should I do?

Hello. Try this. First, you need to download network drivers to your computer (for a LAN network card and for a Wi-Fi adapter). You can download the drivers on the official website of the laptop manufacturer. So, we downloaded the drivers and saved them in some folder on the PC. We’ll need them later. And now we launch the hardware manager and Remove all adapters from the “Network adapters” folder (we have already downloaded the drivers for THESE adapters). Now we launch the command term with administrator rights. In it we execute the following commands:
netsh int IP reset (if you fail to register or an error pops up, then write like this “netsh int IP reset c: \ resetlog.Txt”).
    Route.f.
    Netsh interface reset all.
    Netsh interface IP reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh interface ipv4 reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh interface ipv6 reset resetlog.Txt.
    Netsh winsock reset.
    Netsh firewall reset.
After each command, press “Enter”. Reboot the PC. After that, install the drivers that were previously downloaded and restart the computer again. That’s it, we check if the network and the Internet are working. The above steps will reset your network settings and reinstall the Wi-Fi and network card drivers, reset routing tables, and delete all network cache. Most of the problems with networks are due precisely to incorrect network settings, accumulated network cache (which makes it difficult for the network) and incorrect routing parameters. The above commands will reset it all and set the initial network parameters.

Hello, please help, all devices stopped seeing the Wi-fi network, everything worked well for this, the router itself (Edimax) is on, that it works.

Good afternoon! I rented a Rostelecom router. Everything worked for 2 months, now. The phone (mine) and the Android tablet see the wi-fi network, and the laptop and Lumi’s wife see the wine background. Do not see. What could be?

The laptop suddenly stopped seeing the access point. The phone and tablet are connected, that is, everything is fine with the Wi-Fi and the router. What could it be?

Thanks, your article helped a lot

Good afternoon. The problem is this: a PC with a Wi-Fi board connected to the router normally, but now it stopped seeing. He sees all the other networks around him and connects, he does not see only mine. All other devices. phones and a laptop are connected to my network, so everything is in order with the router.

    Thanks, helped a lot!

Hello. All devices in the house have stopped seeing your Wi-Fi router at the same time? There are two options here. 1. The router has burned out (or the Wi-Fi has gone out). In this case, you need to carry the router to repair or buy a new router. 2. Someone (maybe you yourself) just turned on hidden mode. In this mode, the router does NOT broadcast its name and you DO NOT see the network. But, it is there and you can connect to it. Either way, connect to your router via cable (this requires a computer). Enter the router settings, go to the “Wi-Fi settings” section (look for a similar name, the main thing is to get into the Wi-Fi network settings). And here already see what settings. You may need to reset the router parameters or flashing the router. After that, you will have to configure it again. If you can’t, then call the master or Contact your knowledgeable friends for help (if any).
