Error support code 1002 Orange light blinks 2 times

No CD or DVD in the CD / DVD tray.

Decision

  • Open the paper feed tray at the front of the machine.
  • Place CD / DVD (printable side up) in the CD / DVD tray NOTE: Make sure the CD / DVD tray is clean
  • Insert the CD / DVD tray under the inner cover and make sure it is level. The picture above shows the CD / DVD tray
  • Press the [Resume / Cancel] button on the device to continue.

Error support code 1003 / E02. Orange light blinks 2 times

There is no paper in the cassette (paper tray).

Decision:

  • Insert paper into cassette (paper tray).
  • Press the [Resume / Cancel] button on the device to continue.

Error support code 1007

Description:

The error occurred for one of the following reasons.

  • There is no paper in the cassette (top).
  • Wrong paper source.
  • Paper is NOT loaded properly.

Decision:

  • Load paper into cassette (upper).
  • Load paper into a suitable paper source. Small size photo paper, such as 4 “x 6” (10 x 15 cm) or 5 “x 7” (13 x 18 cm), or Hagaki, is loaded into the cassette (upper). Using Plain Paper for Proof Printing, Cut into 4 “x 6” (10 x 15 cm) or 5 “x 7” (13 x 18 cm) sheets may cause paper jams.
  • Align the paper guides on both sides of the paper while loading.
  • Press the [OK] button to clear the error.

Error support code 1008

Description:

The error occurred for one of the following reasons.

  • There is no paper in the cassette (bottom).
  • Wrong paper source.
  • Paper is NOT loaded properly.

Decision

  • Load paper into cassette (lower).
  • Load paper into a suitable paper source. In the cassette (bottom) you can load large size photo paper, A4, B5, A5, 8 “x 10” (20 x 25 cm), Letter, Legal, or envelopes.
  • Align the paper guides on both sides of the paper while loading.
  • Press the [OK] button to clear the error.

Error support code 1200

Description

Ink Tank Cover Open.

Decision

  • Close the ink tank cover and wait for a while. DO NOT close the ink tank cover while replacing the ink tank.

Error support code 1202 / E06

Description

Paper take-up cover open.

Decision

  • Close the back cover.

If these steps did not resolve the error, contact your nearest service center for repair.

Error support code 1203

The cover was opened during printing.

Actions

  • If there is paper left in the product, slowly remove it with both hands and close the cover.
  • Press the [Black / B / W] or [Color] button to clear the error.
  • Blank pages will be ejected and printing will resume from the next letter.
  • The page that was printed with the cover open will not be reprinted. Repeat print.

NOTE. Do NOT open or close the cover while printing as this may damage the device.

Error support code 1240

Control panel closed.

Decision:

  • Open the control panel and then pull out the paper output tray.
    Select OK on the LCD to resume printing.

Note. To cancel printing, press the Stop button on the printer.

Error support code 1250 / E17. Orange light blinks 3 times

Front door closed.

Decision:

  • Open the front door so the printed paper can exit.

Note. This error is displayed at the beginning or during printing.

Error support code 1270

Feed slot cover open.

Decision:

  • Close the feed slot cover slowly and select OK on the LCD.

Note. When you close the feed slot cover, the rear tray paper information setting screen appears. Set up the information in the paper in the rear tray. Press the Stop button on the printer to cancel printing.

Error support code 1300 / E03. Orange light blinks 3 times

Paper Jams During Printing.

Decision:

  • Find and remove jammed paper from the printer.
  • Press the [Resume / Cancel] button on the machine to continue printing.

Error support code 1303. Orange light blinks 3 times

There is a paper jam in the rear tray.

Decision

  • Remove any jammed paper from the rear tray.
  • Press the [Resume / Cancel] button on the machine to continue printing.

Support code 1304 error. Orange light blinks 3 times

A paper jam has occurred in the lower tray at the front of the product.

Decision

  • Remove any jammed paper from the lower tray.
  • Press the [Resume / Cancel] button on the device.

Error support code 1310 / E10. Orange light flashes 10 times

Cannot perform duplex printing. Often this error occurs due to a mismatch between the actual paper size and the size set in the print settings

Decision:

  • Paper sizes supported for duplex printing are A4, Letter, A5 and 5 “x7”
  • Load paper of the correct size and press the [Resume / Cancel] button.

Error support code 1311

A paper jam has occurred in the paper cassette (upper).

Decision

Remove the jammed paper by following these steps.

NOTE. Do not turn off the power while sending or receiving a fax, or when a received fax or unsent faxes are stored in the machine’s memory. Before disconnecting the power cord Make sure the product has finished sending or receiving faxes. If you unplug the power cord, any unsent documents stored in the machine’s memory will be lost.

  • To cancel the specified print, press the [Stop / Stop] button and turn off the machine.
  • Remove the back cover.
  • Detach the feed module cover.
  • Remove any jammed paper carefully. NOTE. Do not touch the inside of the product. If you cannot pull the paper out, open the paper output tray.
  • Install the feed module cover.
  • Install the rear cover. If you cannot remove the paper in step 4, follow the steps below:
  • Remove the lower and upper cassettes.
  • Remove the jammed paper gently.
  • If the paper does NOT load in the cassette correctly, remove the paper and reload it by aligning the edges of the sheets NOTE. when reloading paper Make sure you are using the correct paper for printing and loading it correctly.
  • Load the cassettes into the machine, then press the [OK] button.

If these steps did not resolve the error, contact your nearest service center for repair.

Error support code 1312

A paper jam has occurred in the cassette (lower).

Decision

Remove the jammed paper by following these steps.

Error support code 1313

Paper is jammed when the print is pulled into the machine.

Decision

Remove the jammed paper by following these steps.

NOTE. If printed sheets accumulate in the paper exit slot, the product may pull them inward, causing the paper to jam inside the product. Removing paper after printing from the paper output tray before 50 sheets have accumulated.

Error support code 1401 / E05. Orange indicator flashes 5 times

Print head not installed or not installed correctly.

Decision:

To fix this problem, you need to contact the service center for repair or install a working steam generator.

Support code error 1403. Orange light flashes 5 times

An error occurred in the printhead temperature sensor (the printhead may be installed and not suitable for this printer model).

Decision

To fix this problem, you need to contact the service center for repair.

Support code error 1405. Orange light blinks 5 times

Erroneous printhead data or incorrect communication with the EEPROM firmware (it is possible that a Printhead is installed, and not suitable for this printer model).

Decision

  • Reinstall printhead.
  • Wipe the contacts of the ribbon cable connected to the head.
  • Check the loop for integrity.
  • If all else fails, the head needs to be replaced.

Error support code 140B

The printhead may be damaged. Contact your nearest Canon Service Center to fix the problem.

Error support code 1410/1411/1412/1413/1414

Description

This cartridge is recognized by the device because of its malfunction (more details). The reason may be poor contact with the chip or a faulty cartridge chip (for example, if the chip on the cartridge was filled with ink).

Decision

Open the ink tank cover and replace the ink tank whose indicator is off.

Error support code 1485

Printing is not possible due to incompatibility of the installed cartridge with the device or poor contact with the cartridge.

Solution (how to remove)

Reinstall the cartridge; it didn’t help. clean the cartridge contacts (and the counterparts to the carriage) didn’t help. check the carriage cable for an open circuit; cable intact. replace the cartridge with a working or compatible one (check which one your device needs, perhaps you have an ink tank for the second region).

Error support code 1486 / E07

The FINE cartridge is installed in the wrong position (not in place).

Decision

  • Make sure each FINE cartridge is installed in the correct position.

Support code error 1487. Orange light flashes 7 times

The printer has more than one cartridge of the same color.

Decision

  • Raise the printer cover.
  • Locate the duplicate color cartridge (see the color on the label at the top of the cartridge). You can also check the status monitor on your computer for details. The error can also be associated with incorrectly installed chips on the shut-off device or CISS.
  • Remove the cartridge and insert a new one with the desired color.
  • Press the [Resume / Cancel] button on the machine to continue printing.

Error support code 1551

Original Canon ink tanks discovered.

  • Select OK on the LCD.

Error support code 1552

Original Canon ink tanks installed.

Support code 1600 error. Orange light blinks 4 times

The ink cartridge has run out.

Decision

Replace the empty ink tank or press “Resume / Cancel / OK” to re-print on the remaining ink (note: this function is used to disable tracking the ink level).

Support code error 1660. Orange light blinks 4 times

The ink tanks cannot be recognized. Incorrectly installed cartridge, defective cartridge chip, poor contact between the chip and the cartridge.

Decision

  • Raise the printer cover.
  • Make sure the red light on all cartridges is on.
  • If one of the cartridges does not have a red light, make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and correct it if necessary.
  • Make sure to remove the protective orange cap from the bottom of the cartridge.
  • Press the [Resume / Cancel] button on the machine to continue printing.

Support code 1680 error. Orange light flashes 7 times

The cartridge is not in place (for example, the green cartridge is installed in the yellow cartridge slot).

Decision

  • Raise the printer cover.
  • Make sure all cartridges are in place. If necessary, swap cartridges. Which ink tanks are out of place. check the status monitor on the computer.

Error support code 1681

Description

Error support code 1682 / E15. Orange light flashes 15 times

The product does NOT recognize the cartridge due to a fatal cartridge failure. Also, the error may be related to a malfunction of the SG: an incompatible SG is installed or the exchange of SG data with the EEPROM firmware is incorrect.

Decision:

  • Raise the printer cover.
  • Make sure the printer is loaded with Canon ink cartridges. Replace second-hand cartridges with Canon cartridges if necessary.
  • Replace ink cartridges and press the [Resume / Cancel] button on the machine to continue printing.
  • If it doesn’t help:
  • Reinstall printhead.
  • Wipe the contacts of the ribbon cable connected to the head.
  • Check the loop for integrity.
  • If all else fails, the head needs to be replaced.

Support code error 1683. Orange light flashes 13 times

Unable to detect ink level.

Decision

  • The printer has a cartridge that was previously empty.
  • Replace such cartridge with a new one or Disable Difficult for ink levels.

After replacing the ink cartridge, press the [Resume / Cancel] button on the machine to continue printing.
If these steps did not resolve the error, contact the service center for repair.

Error support code 1684 / E14. Orange light flashes 14 times

Cartridge not supported (cartridge and printer purchased in different regions).

Decision:

  • Raise the printer cover.
  • Find a cartridge that does not have a red light and replace it with a suitable one.
  • Press the [Resume / Cancel] button on the machine to continue printing.

Error support code 1686 / E13

The device cannot determine the amount of ink remaining (a refilled or used cartridge is installed)

Decision

Replace cartridge or Disable Difficult for ink levels. To turn off tracking the ink level. press and hold down the “Resume / Cancel” button for more than 5 seconds.

Error support code 1687 / E04

FINE cartridge is not installed correctly.

Decision

  • Reinstall FINE Cartridges by clicking them down until they snap into place and close the cover.
  • If it does not help. Wipe the contact pads on the cartridge and the counterparts in the carriage. Make sure that when installing the cartridge, it is installed without skewing, and that the cover latches with the cartridge installed are latched.

Error support code 1688 / E16

Decision

The printer has detected that ink has run out (Ink light blinks or a message appears on the LCD).

Decision

  • Replace ink tank and close scanning unit / cover.
  • If you want to continue printing, turn off the remaining ink detection function. To disable this function, press and. Do not release the Stop key on the printer for at least 5 seconds, and then release it. For models on PGI-480 / CLI-481 cartridges, first click OK and follow the instructions on the computer screen.

When the function for detecting the remaining ink level is disabled, this ink tank is displayed in gray or as an empty rectangle on the LCD current ink remaining check screen.

Error support code 1700/1701. Orange light flashes 8 times

Waste ink tank almost full (95% level).

Definition:

The waste ink container collects the ink used for cleaning. To maintain optimum print quality, the ink used for cleaning is absorbed by the waste ink container located inside the printer. When the full counter reaches 100%, the printer will be locked and will NOT work until the counter is reset.

Decision

Click “Resume / Cancel” to continue.

Error support code 1702/1703/1704/1705/1710/1711/1712/1713/1714/1715 / E08

Waste ink container is almost full.

Decision

Press the [OK] button on the device to continue printing.

Refilled or Non-Genuine Canon Ink Container Detected.

  • Replace the Ink Tank to print, or Disable the remaining ink level detection function. To disable the function of detecting the remaining ink level, press and Do not release the Stop button on the printer for at least 5 seconds, and then release it.

When the remaining ink level detection function is disabled, this ink tank appears grayed out or a blank square on the LCD check ink remaining screen.

Error support code 1750

Corresponding ink tank not installed.

  • Unable to print. ink tank incompatible with this printer.
  • Install the appropriate ink tank.

To cancel printing, press the Stop button on the printer.

Error support code 1890 / E40

The protective material of the FINE cartridge holder or tape may be left on the holder.

Decision

  • Open the paper output tray cover and check for any protective material or tape on the FINE cartridge holder.
  • Remove any protective material or tape and close the paper output tray cover.

Error support code 1830 1. Orange light flashes 6 times

Timeout expired while printing on CD / DVD: no printing was performed within 12 minutes after the job was sent.

Decision

  • Press the [Resume / Cancel] button on the device to clear the error and resume printing.
  • Make sure the CD / DVD is properly inserted in the CD / DVD tray.

Error support code 1856 1. Orange light flashes 6 times

Support code 2001 error. Orange light blinks 9 times

Connected digital camera or camcorder Plasma direct print from camera.

Decision

  • Disconnect the device from the printer by unplugging the cable from the printer and the device.

Support code 2002 error. Orange light flashes 19 times

This hub is not supported.

Decision

  • Disconnect the device by disconnecting the USB connector from the printer and the device.

Error support code 2100

The paper loaded in the machine is larger than the size set in the print settings.

Decision

  • Check the loaded paper size and press the [OK] button on the machine.
  • The processing method selection screen will be displayed on the LCD screen.
  • If you want to reload the paper, use the [] buttons to select the processing method, and then click the [OK] button. NOTE. The machine does NOT recognize the width of the paper that is being printed if the “Print with paper fed” function is enabled. To disable the page width sensing feature for all subsequent print jobs, set the machine to NOT recognize page width using the control panel, printer driver, or Remote UI.

Error support code 2101

The paper loaded in the machine is smaller than the size set in the print settings.

Decision

  • Check the loaded paper size and press the [OK] button on the machine.
  • The processing method selection screen will be displayed on the LCD screen.
  • If you want to load the paper again, use the [] buttons to select the processing method, and then click the [OK] button.

If these steps did not resolve the error, contact your nearest service center for repair.

Error support code 2102

The printer detects that the paper was fed only one side of the feed.

Decision

  • Load paper in the middle of the front tray and slide the paper guides to align both edges of the paper stack.
  • Press the [OK] button to clear the error.

If these steps did not resolve the error, contact your nearest service center for repair.

Error support code 2103

The product may not be able to detect the paper size.

Decision

  • Press the [Stop] button to clear the error and try to print again.
  • If the error occurs again after printing, set the machine to NOT recognize the page width using the control panel, printer driver, or Remote UI. Note. Depending on the paper type, the machine may NOT recognize the page width. In addition, the product may NOT recognize the page width if the paper take-up cover is open during printing.

Error support code 2114

The paper settings in print or copy mode are different from the information in the rear tray paper set in the printer.

  • Accept the printer warning clicked OK twice.
  • Select “Print with loaded paper”, “Change paper” or “Cancel”.
  • Confirm the action with the OK button.

Printing with loaded paper. (Print with the loaded paper.)

Select this option if you want to print or copy on paper loaded in the rear tray without changing paper settings.
For example, if the print or copy option is set to A5 size paper and A4 is set in the rear tray paper information, A5 will be used to print or copy on rear tray paper.

Replace the paper and print

Select this option after replacing paper in the rear tray.
For example, if the print or copy option is set to A5 size paper and the rear tray paper information is set to A4, change the rear tray paper to A5 and proceed to print or copy.

Cancel (Cancel)

Cancels printing.
Select this option to change the paper settings for printing or copying. Change paper settings and print again.

Error support code 2123

Feed slot cover open or rear tray paper setting is incomplete.

  • If the feed slot cover is open, close it and select OK on the LCD.
  • If the following screen appears, the paper settings in the rear tray are incomplete.
  • Select the item register. (Register) to complete the rear tray paper setting.

Support code 2500 error. Orange light flashes 11 times

Automatic printhead alignment error. This error occurs when there is no image on the printed sample, or the AD sensor (located on the carriage) does not “see” this image

Decision

NOTE. Do not turn off the power while sending or receiving a fax, or when a received fax or unsent faxes are stored in the machine’s memory. Before disconnecting the power cord Make sure the product has finished sending or receiving faxes. If you unplug the power cord, any unsent documents stored in the machine’s memory will be lost.

  • If you press the [Stop] button while scanning, the document remains in the ADF and a message appears on the LCD. Press the [OK] button to eject the document from the ADF.
  • If an original document is jammed in the ADF, press the [Stop] button to cancel printing.
  • Turn off the device.
  • Remove all pages except the pages jammed in the ADF and open the document feeder cover.
  • Remove the jammed document from the ADF.
  • Close the document feeder cover and turn on the device.
  • If the document is jammed in the paper exit slot, close the document tray as shown in the figure below and pull the document out.   • Make sure the paper type and paper size are suitable for automatic printhead alignment. Always loads one letter of A4 or Letter size plain paper for automatic printhead alignment.
  • Check the condition of the printheads by printing a nozzle check pattern.
  • If the error is NOT resolved, perform a manual printhead alignment.

The print head alignment pattern has finished printing and the machine is waiting to scan a document.

What to do

Load the printhead alignment letter onto the scanner glass. Place the printhead alignment letter with the printed side down and follow the instructions on the computer screen. After placing the sheet for scanning, carefully close the document cover and press the [Black] or [Color] button on the machine. The machine starts scanning the printhead alignment sheet and the printheads are automatically adjusted.

Error support code 4100 / E12

The specified data cannot be printed.

Decision

  • When printing content from CREATIVE PARK PREMIUM Make sure all the correct genuine Canon FINE cartridges are installed in the product correctly and print again.
