I / O devices not only produce output, but can also be used as storage and input devices. The computer transfers the data to disk, where it is saved and can be accessed later.
Examples of I / O devices are CD drives, DVD drives, USB drives, hard disk drives (HDD), and floppy disk drives.

Reasons for having an output device
The computer can work without an output device. However, without an output device, it is impossible to determine what the computer is doing. There are no indicators of errors or the need for additional data. For example, if you disconnect the monitor from the computer, the computer will still work, but there will be no benefit.

Examples of output devices
Monitor. It is the most common computer output device and creates a visual display from which users can view processed data. Monitors come in different sizes and resolutions.
All monitors depend on the video card, which is located either on the motherboard of the computer or in a special expansion slot. The video card sorts computer data by image details, which can then be displayed by the monitors.
A printer. this device generates a printed version of processed data such as documents and photographs. The computer sends the image data to a printer, which then physically recreates the image, usually on paper.
- Ink Jet. This type of printer sprays tiny dots of ink onto the surface to form an image.
- Laser. This type uses toner drums that are rolled through a magnetized pigment and then transfer the pigment to the surface.
- Dot Matrix. dot matrix printers use a print head to apply images to a surface using an ink ribbon. These printers were commonly used between 1980 and 900.
Speakers. speakers are attached to computers to facilitate sound output; sound cards are required in your computer for the speakers to work. Different speaker types range from simple two speaker output devices to multichannel surround sound devices.
Headset. it is a combination of speaker and microphone.It is mainly used by gamers, and it is also a great tool to communicate with family and friends over the internet using some kind of VOIP program or other.
Projector. it is a display device that projects a computer-generated image onto another surface, usually a board or wall. The computer transfers the image data to its video card, which then sends the video image to the projector. Most often used for presentations or for watching videos.
Plotter. generates a paper copy of a digitally rendered design. The design is sent to a plotter through a graphics card, and the drawing is formed with a pen. Typically used in engineering applications, it essentially draws a given image using a series of straight lines.

Children, you know what a computer is. it is a data processing machine and it needs instructions to do any job. After processing the raw facts (called data), it provides useful information to the user. But how do you transmit data and instructions to the computer and how it can return useful information to you.
For all this, various types of input and output devices can be connected to the computer.

Mouse. another input device that is commonly associated with computers. It is essentially a point-and-click pointing device. When the mouse is moved over the mouse pad, the light beam below it is reflected and moves the pointer on the screen. The mouse is used in Windows-based programs where the user can run commands by pointing objects with the pointer and clicking the mouse buttons. We also use the mouse to draw with paints and children’s pictures.
Most of the newest mice these days have a wheel in the middle of the two buttons to help us flip through documents more easily. with our index finger, we move the wheel to scroll the document up or down. An optical mouse uses red light to track the movement of the mouse as you move the pointer on the computer screen. This type of mouse is more accurate and reliable than a regular mouse.
Wireless mice are very popular these days. It has no wires. it either uses Bluetooth technology to send data over the air to a receiver, usually connected to a computer USB port.
