Printer prints one sheet at a time Cause

Paper quality

By the way, if the printer does not print well, the reason may lie in the paper itself. It is possible that it is of poor quality, the toner does not adhere to it well. The solution to the problem in this case will be very simple. change the brand of paper. It is quite another matter if the printer suddenly began to print very faintly. The problem may lie in several elements of the cartridge at once, which we will talk about.

Toner is our everything!

And now about why the printer does not print well. The very first reason is poor quality toner. This is a powder that is filled into the cartridge hopper and, when heated, seems to be absorbed into the paper, leaving a trace on it. It should be noted that only one toner is suitable for each printer model. In other words, Canon toner will not work in HP typewriters and vice versa. The reason lies in the chemical composition of the powders.

printer, prints, sheet, time, cause

Some toner contains one metal, some. other. And if you fill the HP printer cartridge with toner for Canon, it may turn out that after printing the powder will simply fall off the sheet. The chemical composition affects the temperature at which the powder can be absorbed into the sheet of paper. Therefore, when refueling yourself, you must use at least universal toners. But it is better to purchase original.

Photo drum (photo drum)

This is one of the elements that is directly responsible for the print quality. We can say that this is such a matrix on a cylindrical shaft. A voltage is applied to it, which makes the toner attract (and it consists of metals as well). The drum unit comes into contact with a heated sheet of paper and leaves a print on it. And if the HP printer does not print well, then the reason may lie in this particular detail.

, replacement is straightforward. Installing a new photo roll is guaranteed to improve print quality. By the way, quite often the matrix on the drum wears out strictly along the edges of the sheet. As a result, the voltage does not reach certain areas. In this case, some areas of the page are not printed. As for the lack of toner, you can also see it on the sheet that comes out. there will be a light line in the middle. In this case, only refueling will help.

Magnetic shaft

The cartridge includes, as a rule, three shafts. one of them is magnetic. On the outside, it has a smooth dielectric surface, and on the inside. permanent magnet. It transfers toner to the drum unit. over, the toner is applied to the magnetic roller in a thin layer, then some part is transferred to the photo roll for printing, and the rest is dumped into the hopper for processing. But the magnet in it is not entirely constant. it tends to be demagnetized.

Therefore, over time, the toner adheres much worse to the surface, therefore, less of it is spent on printing. Only shaft replacement will help. But if you want to experiment, then you can try to magnetize it again. Although this is unlikely to be effective.

The printer does not print well: causes, possible breakdowns, remedies

Office equipment has become part of our life, scanners and printers today are simply irreplaceable helpers. But if the scanners do not need maintenance, then the printers need to be refueled in a timely manner, and the cartridges should be repaired. And what if the printer suddenly does not print well after refilling with fresh toner? In our article, we will consider the most popular reasons for this phenomenon. After all, most users trust services that provide cartridge refilling services. And hardly anyone wondered whether the service is provided with high quality.

Gripper roller

This is one of the three shafts found in the cartridges. By the way, in some models there is no such shaft in the cartridges, it is installed in the printer itself. It consists of a metal core and a rubber sheath, which tends to wear out. And if the gum cracks, then the paper does not grip or it goes crooked. In general, this does not affect print quality. But the paper feed has a direct impact.

Main parts of the printer

We will not describe the principle of the printer, but only list those elements that directly affect the print quality. Firstly, this is a cartridge, which consists of several shafts (we will talk about them a little below) and compartments (for new toner and waste). Secondly, it is a heating mechanism. a Teflon-coated roller that heats the paper so that the toner adheres to it securely.

It is these elements that are responsible for the print quality. But for the very operation of the printer, both the paper feeder and a set of gears for pulling the sheet through the entire mechanism are responsible. In other words, there are a lot of mechanisms in the design, but they do not affect the quality.

Drum is dirty

It needs to be carefully cleaned. You need to work with this part with soft gloves, it is very sensitive. If the drum unit is not just dirty, but damaged or worn out from time to time, it must be replaced with a new one.

Why does the cartridge print dirty??

Having discovered that your laser printer smears, gives dirt when printing, you need to first find out the reason. Try inserting a different cartridge and doing a test print. If everything is fine, then your old cartridge is to blame. If the dirt remains, then the reason is in the printer and this needs to be dealt with further.

Carelessly refilled the cartridge:

The inner surfaces, the cartridge assemblies are not properly cleaned of old toner residues, the cartridge is not assembled correctly, the dispenser blade could be damaged during refilling, or another non-original toner was added directly to the old original toner residues. You cannot mix different toners. they are different in their structure. This is called a low-quality dressing.

READ  How To Insert A Cartridge Into An HP Deskjet Printer

After refilling the cartridge, the printer prints dirty, if the wrong toner was used. there will be an unwanted dirty background all over the printed sheet. Refill cartridges in a trusted service center, and you will not have such problems. Do not chase after cheap service, in the case of expensive laser printing equipment this is not justified.

If the problem is with the printer:

Let’s make a stop test. Having closed the printer cover, we begin to print the sheet, and when the sheet has already entered the printer completely. you need to open the cover and printing will stop before the paper enters the fusing unit. After that, carefully and in the same direction as the printer takes the paper, you need to pull out the sheet and watch the application of the toner before it enters the stove.

If the sheet remains clean, then the problem is in the fixing unit, it is also called a stove or fuser. The function of the fuser is to make the ink stick to the paper with the help of high temperature, literally melt it into the paper. If the stove breaks down, the printed text will be smeared with a background halo. Inspect the fuser thermal film (top roller) for any damage or burnt toner. If there is dirt, remove it by wiping the roller with a soft, lint-free cloth. Perhaps this will be enough to stop the dirt in the print. If cleaning the roller does not help, it means that the fixing unit is out of order and the printer needs to be returned for repair.

If there is an unwanted background all over the page, the printer optics need to be cleaned.

It is also a very common cause of dirt: when printing on a sheet that already has a printed image on one side. If we print on the back of a sheet, the paper, passing through the fuser, takes on new toner from the top side, and from the bottom side of the paper, due to heating by the fuser, the toner already present there comes out. And stains the trees. And even if such a printer is cleaned at the service, then literally after 10 pages of printing on single-sided paper, the dirt will again be in the printer.

If there are stains on the back of the printed sheet of paper. the reason is that the printer parts are dirty: pick roller, feed roller, transfer roller, if the fuser or cartridge is defective, this can also be.

Small dots of toner all over the sheet indicate debris in the printer. Or a defective cartridge is to blame.

The reason for dirty printing is not necessarily a malfunction, sometimes incorrect settings are to blame: for example, there is thin paper in the settings, but in fact you loaded very thick paper. Stove does not heat up properly and toner bakes and stains the paper.

If the problem was with the cartridge, then it could be:

Why does the cartridge print in stripes??

Have you noticed that your laser printer or mfp is printing poor quality and there are streaks. dark or light, dots or solid, vertical or horizontal.

After refueling, the cartridge began to print with stripes, which was not the case before.

First of all, you need to make diagnostics and establish the reasons for such a low-quality print, and they can be varied. Let’s analyze the most typical cases.

The main reasons the cartridge prints in stripes. whether it is a new, freshly refilled, or previously normally printing cartridge

  • If there is a light stripe in the center of the sheet, that is, the print is almost invisible, or a faint print, most likely this indicates that the coloring matter is running out. It’s time to refill the cartridge. But it may also be this: the toner is not yet empty, but there is a faint line. This is a reason to contact the service center.
  • Another reason why the laser printer strips: the integrity of the cartridge is broken, it is depressurized. You can check this as follows: put a white sheet of paper on the table and shake the cartridge over the sheet. The coloring powder is scattered. this is it, cartridge leaks.
  • There is such a part in the cartridge as a magnetic roller, a hollow tube, it charges the toner microbeads with a negative charge and transfers them to the drum unit. If any debris is adhered to this roller, there will be a white vertical streak in the print. If there are black cloudy horizontal stripes, it means that the magnetic roller needs to be replaced, it is unsuitable for further use.
  • If the waste toner hopper is full, the print will have streaks of small dots, the streaks can be both longitudinal and transverse for this reason. The hopper needs to be emptied. Every time you refill the cartridge, you should also clean the waste toner box.
  • Problems with the toner dispenser blade also give striped print. A fine detail, its surface is easily damaged, and any unevenness of the surface will cause light or dark vertical streaks on the print. Damage to the toner dispensing blade is caused by careless actions by the user trying to refill the cartridge without proper experience. Even if the blade is not properly secured, the print will be streaked.
  • A dark vertical streak along one or both edges of the sheet indicates a drum failure. Cleaning the drum unit with a special solution may help. But don’t do it yourself, ruin the drum. If cleaning doesn’t work, buy a new drum unit.
  • Horizontal stripes may appear at equal distances from each other. This print defect is caused by poor contact between the magnetic roller and the drum unit. Cleaning the cartridge parts, especially the magnetic roller contacts, can help. Or it may not help, you may have to change the cartridge. Only a specialist will deal with this.

So, we have listed the most common reasons why a laser printer prints in stripes. But these are not all cases; there are also atypical problems. In each case, the diagnosis should be done by an experienced master.

As you can see, a laser printer cartridge is a complex and delicate technological complex. Considering the price of the new original cartridge, the conclusion suggests itself: than trying to deal with the problem of stripes on prints on your own, it is better not to waste time and immediately contact professionals who can quickly and accurately determine the cause, and then eliminate it as soon as possible and with minimal losses for you All this is successfully done by the Snake Workshop.

Disabling Mopier Mode for an HP Printer

In this case, you need to disable Mopier mode.

  • Go to Control Panel Devices and Printers. open the properties of the desired HP printer.
  • Click the Device Settings tab
  • Scroll down the list and in the Installable Options section, find the Mopier Mode item and disable it (Disabled)
  • Save changes.

After that, when sending several copies for printing, several identical jobs will be generated and sent over the network.

If your printer has an internal hard drive installed, but jobs from the local cache are not sent to print when Mopier mode is enabled, in the same section of printer settings, check if the option is disabled:

Printer Hard disk. Not installed

HP printer prints only one copy of a page instead of multiple

Faced the problem that the HP printer prints only one copy of a page, no matter how many copies are set in the settings when sending to print. It seems that the field with the setting, which indicates the number of copies of the document, is simply ignored by the printer (or its driver).

The printer uses the latest available version of the HP Universal Driver downloaded from the manufacturer’s website, so there was no point in updating the printer driver.

Mopier Mode

If you open the contents of the prn file that the printer generates when sending to print, you can see the following useful information in the print parameters (highlighted in yellow).

@PJL SET QTY = 2 number of copies
@PJL SET PROCESSINGBOUNDARY = MOPY MOPY mode

After searching the HP forums, I found that the problem could be related to the Mopier mode enabled in the driver (stands for multiple original copy). This mode assumes a reduction in traffic between the computer and the printer, when when printing several copies of pages, only one copy of the job and the QTY parameter, which specifies how many times this job should be printed, is transmitted to the printer. But there is one BUT here. For this mode to work correctly, the printer must have sufficient internal memory or hard disk space to store the job. Many younger models of HP printers (HP LaserJet 1160, HP 1200, HP 1320 and others) simply do not have such memory or it is not enough.

Therefore, the received job is immediately printed as a page is received from the computer, and the printer can no longer print it again from its memory.

Changing the printer’s print processor

If turning off Mopier mode does not fix the problem of printing only one copy of a page, try changing the print processor of the printer.

  • In the printer properties, go to the Advanced tab
  • Click on the Print Processor button
  • In the list of print handlers, change the current HP processor to the standard Microsoft print processor. winprint
  • Save changes

Changing the printer’s print processor

Most often, it is enough to change the printer’s print handler so that our printer starts printing the entire document again and stops ignoring the number of specified copies.

How to change the print processor of the printer?

  • Go to “Control Panel”, then “Devices and Printers”, right-click on the icon of your printer and select “Properties”
  • Click on the “Advanced” tab, select “Print Processor”
  • Change the print handler to “winprint” (from Microsoft)
  • Save changes

After that, the problem should go away. If the error persists, go to the next step.

Removing the Printer and Installing a New Driver

So the printer is still printing one copy at a time? Try to remove the printer from the “Control Panel” and install the latest driver.

  • Go to “Control Panel”, then “Devices and Printers”, right-click on the icon of your printer and select “Uninstall”
  • Then download the driver for your printer from the manufacturer’s website and install. For HP, you can download the “HP Universal Driver”
  • Install the driver and check if this action fixed your problem

Disabling Mopier Mode

If your printer does not print multiple copies and prints only one page, then quite often this is due to the fact that the “Mopier” mode is enabled in the settings of your device. What is this mode and why is it used?

Mopier mode reduces the amount of network traffic between the computer and the printer. Thus, the computer does not send each copy of your document to the printer separately (for example, if you have 100 copies set, then each copy is sent to the printer as a separate “file”), but sends one copy of the document and “indicates” the required number of copies. However, such a document ultimately takes up a fairly large space in the memory of the printing device, and sometimes the printer or MFP may simply not have enough of this memory. In this case, the printer prints only one page of the document and ignores the rest. In this case, you must disable this mode.

  • Go to “Control Panel”, then “Devices and Printers”, right-click on the icon of your printer and select “Properties”
  • Go to the “Device Settings” tab, select the “mopier mode” subsection in the “Installable Add-ons” section
  • Switch the mode to “Off”, save changes

It was this method that helped me to cope with the problem that had arisen. Many older printers have the sin of having a small amount of memory and therefore cannot print “bulky” documents with a large number of copies with the “Mopier” enabled. Also, this error can appear if you are using a print server (as in my case)

Clearing the printer’s print queue

If the previous methods did not help you and your printer still prints one page at a time, then you can try to clear the printer’s print queue. Usually it is found along this path:

i.e. usually this is the path C: \ Windows \ System32 \ spool

You need to go to the folder and delete all files from it. Alternatively, you can download a bat file that will clear the printer’s print queue by itself. It is enough to run it as administrator and it will do the job for you.

Printer prints only one page

So, if we start to deal with our problem, when the printer prints only one copy. There are several solutions to resolve this error. I will start with the most obvious and simple ones, and if this does not help you, then you can try to fix the problem in less obvious ways, which I will also talk about.

Printer prints one page, prints one copy at a time

Today I will write about a problem that I personally encountered not so long ago, namely: the printer prints one page, while it ignores the number of specified copies to print, and prints only one. In this case, the problem occurred with the HP 1320 printer, but it can happen not only with the models and devices of this manufacturer. Usually, in this situation, the user begins to delve into the settings of the program from where the print is made; reinstall drivers, etc. If he is not well versed in computer technology, then he calls professionals who do not hesitate to take “decent” payment for their work. However, you can easily avoid losing your nerves and money and use my instructions. After that, your printer will stop printing one page or one copy at a time and will continue to work fully. The method for eliminating the problem is extremely simple, even an unprepared user can use it. If the problem persists, you can use more complex troubleshooting methods at the end of the article.

Can’t print multiple copies from Word

In addition to the methods listed by yours, here are some more tips that Microsoft gives if you can only print one copy from Office Word. How to enter the properties of the printer driver, I explained above in the text

  • Disable background printing in Microsoft Word (“Word Options”. “Advanced”. “Print”. uncheck “Print in background”
  • Disable the print queue in the properties of the printer driver (select the “Print directly to the printer” mode)
  • Change the graphics mode from vector to raster in the properties of the printer driver
  • Press CTRL END to go to the end of the document. On the Insert tab, select Page Break to add a page break to your document. Add a blank page after the break (to do this, you can press Enter several times, placing the cursor after the break). It can also help if you need to print multiple copies and only one is printed.
  • Install the latest printer driver from the manufacturer’s official website

So, today we learned several ways that will get rid of the error when the printer prints only one page, prints one copy. Hope my article helped you get rid of this problem.

  • Scorpio, you left out one thing. Your notorious pixma needs to be refueled every 50-60 photos.
On the L800 it is more realistic to print all this in 2 hours in “photo” mode. Yes, you have to pause between portions. Somewhere out 2 hours 26 minutes.
On your pixel it seems to be 83 minutes. But the head will not like such heating and it is also necessary to take 3-4 refueling breaks for 10-15 minutes each. How it goes. As a result, it will turn out the same as on the L800. Only on the L800 you don’t have to fuck with syringes or get your hands dirty. You can safely go for a meal, smoke or just go on business while he types without fear that the ink will run out and such a good day will end with error B200.
Well, it’s not even worth talking about the new pixms. You know everything yourself. This is even much bigger than Lki. I already have 2 iP7240s with B200. For 2.5 years.

And I have had L800 for 2 years already. Yes, the previous owner had 9 months. Mileage 16000 already.
Normal tractor. If only he had a good head, and not “what they gave”, then yab already scribbled 30,000))

Don’t mislead people about L805. Year warranty or 10,000 prints.
Pixma has a 7-14 day warranty in general. Refilled and goodbye guarantee.

  • There, problems begin after 5000 prints, and this is no longer a warranty case. The manufacturer initially calculated everything in order to provide POPOL to users of 800x deeply and for a long time.

I use PIXMA 4300, replaced the head after 8 years of work, the flight is normal. 200 photos 10×15 in one hour. I consider it vomit to sprinkle over EPSON and print for hours killing my time.

  • the paper is too stiff or the wrapping is too slippery.

as an option, you can “wrinkle” the edge of the paper a little
