Where Is The Cartridge In A Canon Pixma Printer

Where is the Stop Reset button on my Canon printer? Functions of the Stop Button in Canon Printers.

cartridge, canon, pixma, printer

The eternal question for Canon printer users: “Where is the Stop button”, “What does it look like”, “I don’t have such a button” 🙂

The Stop button, in Canon printers, serves both to cancel a job or resume printing and to turn off the ink level monitoring. About disabling tracking the ink level, an article was previously written on Printblog.Ru, you can Read.

Stop / Reset button functions for most printers and all-in-one printers Canon:

Note 1

Here is Igor Chekhovsky

Also in the latest budget printers and all-in-one printer (IP2700, mp230, mg2440 / 2540, e404) where there is no screen and the “Service” button, the “Stop / Reset” button plays the role of a service button. When pressed for 5 seconds, the error indicator (lightning lamp) starts flashing. These are the number of blinks and the selected service command depends. For an all-in-one printer, they look like this: 1 time. print cartridge page test, 2 times. print head cleaning, 3 times. deep cleaning with print heads, 4 times. print head alignment page, 5 times. scan head alignment page. For printers I don’t really remember, but they are a little different.))) Who knows, maybe add.)))

Canon MG3540, MP230, MG2440, MG2540, E404:
1. Hold Stop until the “Lightning” indicator blinks 1. a nozzle test is in progress
2. Hold Stop until 2 blinks of the “Lightning” indicator. regular cleaning of printheads is performed
3. Hold Stop until 3 blinks of the “Lightning” indicator. deep cleaning of printheads is in progress
4. Hold Stop until 4 blinks of the “Lightning” indicator. printing a letter of automatic calibration of printheads
5. Hold Stop until 5 blinks of the “Lightning” indicator. forced scanning of the automatic alignment sheet by printheads
6. Hold Stop until 6 blinks of the “Lightning” indicator. printing a letter of manual calibration by printheads
7. Hold Stop until 7 blinks of the “Lightning” indicator. test of the paper feed mechanism
8. Hold Stop until 8 blinks of the “Lightning” indicator. cleaning the paper feed rollers

Where is the cartridge in the printer of various brands

Today in every home and office there is at least one printing device, since it is impossible to represent a person of our time who does not need to print any document, photo or list. But a common problem that owners of printers of different models (Samsung, Canon, Kyocera, Xerox, Brother, etc.) may face is the need to replace the cartridge.

This procedure is performed in different cases:

  • Out of ink / powder
  • Incorrect cartridge installation
  • The printer displays an error related to the cartridge;
  • The printer does not print correctly. with blots, stripes, etc.

Things to Remember?

Before attempting to locate and remove a cartridge, certain precautions must be taken to avoid personal injury or damage to the printer.

  • Remove all bracelets, rings, watches and other jewelry from your hands.
  • When removing and then installing the cartridge, use great force, as you can easily damage a fragile part.
  • DO NOT replace the cartridge in Kyocera, Xerox, Brother or other printers in bright light.
  • Wear light-colored clothing when replacing the cartridge, as paint or ink is more likely to smear.
  • Take extra care when working with laser printers. When working in them, the fuser heats up very much, in which you can burn yourself.
  • Before removing the cartridge, remove all clean paper from the tray to ensure that no ink spills on it.

Canon

Many Canon printers have a general structure of the device, and then it is enough to simply understand where the cartridge is in the Canon printer. In the case of Canon and CanonPixma, the cartridge must be replaced when the power is turned on, because only in this case the carriage with the cartridge will be in the required accessible position.

After starting up your Canon or CanonPixma printer, wait until it has fully warmed up. Then open the scanner cover (if there is one) or on the front of the printer (if there is no scanner).

You will see a special carriage that contains the cartridge. When the device is turned on and the cover is opened, it becomes in a special position for replacement. Remove the Canon cartridge and replace it with a new one.

Attention! When installing the cartridge, pay attention to the correct position, as incorrect installation may become a prerequisite Incorrect printing.

HP printers have slight differences in cartridge placement and removal. Also, the location can be different in inkjet and laser printers, so we will consider both of these options.

How to get a replacement cartridge

Laser

To understand where the cartridge is located in an HP laser printer or other similar models (for example, Kyocera), you need to gently open the scanner cover and lock it using the Special levers. If there is an additional cover that protects the internal section of the printer (more often it is made of translucent plastic), then you must open it too. You will see a cartridge with a small black pen on it. Pulling on it, not making an effort. If you do everything correctly, the cartridge will easily slide along the guide slots, which will allow you to remove it.

Jet

Turn on your HP printer and find where the dedicated access roof is on the front panel. After the printer is ready to work. open the cover and wait until the special print head locks in one position. After that, grip the cartridge with the plastic handle and slightly press on it, then pull it towards you. If done correctly, the cartridge will slide easily through the grooves. If you have to make an effort to remove, then there is a high probability of damage to the part, so do not need to do this in any case.

Samsung

The models of this printer are similar to each other, and then the cartridge in the Samsung printer is most often on the front panel of the device.

So, you need to turn on the printer and wait for it to be ready for use. Then open the special cover on the front panel above the paper exit tray. To open it, you need to grasp the special small stops at the edges and pull towards you. After you have seen the cartridge. grab its handle and gently pull it up slightly (to facilitate exit from the grooves), and only then pull it towards you.

After you have removed the cartridge, regardless of its Samsung printer model, we recommend that you close the lid of the machine immediately. This is necessary in order to protect the inside of the printer from direct sunlight, which may adversely affect the condition of some parts. After you have accepted a new cartridge or filled an old one, open access to the unit in the same order and reinstall the part. An indicator of correct installation will be a characteristic click.

This lid has a small notch (it can be located either on the left or on the right), under which you can easily slip your fingertips.
Some Canon printer models, such as the LBP810, load paper from the top. In such a printer, the cartridge is usually placed behind a cover located on the front of the housing. It is necessary to pull it towards you and fold it down.
The path is now clear and the cartridge can be easily pulled out by the handle. It is also easy to return the part back, but if something does not work out, you cannot use force in any case. It may be skewed and in order to avoid breakage it is better to make a second attempt. When the cartridge is brought up to the guides exactly, it practically falls into the place intended for it, and sometimes you need to know how to change the cartridge in a Canon printer. Replacing a FINE Cartridge

If a low ink message or other error occurs, the ink lights and Alarm light will flash to indicate the error. In this state, the machine will not be able to print or scan. Count the number of flashes of the indicator and take the desired action.

Replacement procedure

Follow these steps to replace the FINE cartridge.

Attention!

DO NOT touch the electrical contacts (A) and nozzles with the printhead (B) of the FINE cartridge. The printer may not print correctly if touched.

Use a new FINE cartridge for replacement. Inserting a used FINE cartridge may clog the nozzles.

In addition, with such a FINE cartridge, the machine will not be able to PROVIDE the correct information when a FINE cartridge needs to be replaced.

  • After installing a FINE cartridge, DO NOT remove it from the printer or leave the printer open. This will cause the FINE cartridge to dry out and cause the printer to malfunction when you reinstall the cartridge. For maximum print quality, a FINE cartridge should be used within six months of first use.
  • Note.

    If a FINE Cartridge is low on ink, you can continue to print for a short time with only the Black or Color FINE Cartridge. In which ink remains. However, this will result in lower print quality compared to printing with two cartridges. New FINE cartridges are recommended for optimum performance.

    Even when printing with one type of ink, DO NOT remove the empty FINE cartridge. Missing Color FINE Cartridge or Black FINE Cartridge Causes Printer Error and Printing Stops.

    See below for how to configure this parameter.

    Color ink may be consumed even when printing a black and white document or choosing black and white printing.

    Both color and black ink are also consumed by standard and deep cleaning of the printheads. Which may be necessary for the printer to function. If a cartridge is out of ink, replace the FINE cartridge with a new one immediately.

    Make sure the power is on.

    Fold the Paper Output Tray and the Optional Paper Output Tray.

    FINE cartridge holder moves to replacement position.

    Caution!

    • DO NOT try to stop or move the FINE cartridge holder by hand. DO NOT touch the FINE cartridge holder when it stops completely.

    Attention!

    • The inside of the printer can be stained with ink. When replacing FINE cartridges, be careful not to get your hands or clothing dirty. Ink can be easily removed from the inside of the printer using paper towels, etc.
    • DO NOT touch metal or other parts inside the printer.
    • If the cover is left open for more than 10 minutes, the FINE cartridge holder may move. The Alarm lamp will light up. In this case, close the cover. And then open it again.

    Remove the empty FINE cartridge.

    Press the FINE cartridge down until it stops (you should hear a click).

    Remove the FINE cartridge.

    Attention!

    • Be careful when handling the FINE cartridge. So as not to stain clothes or the surrounding area.
    • Dispose of the empty FINE Cartridge according to local laws and regulations for the disposal of consumables.

    Prepare a new FINE cartridge.

    Take a new FINE cartridge out of its packaging and carefully remove the protective tape (C).

    Attention!

    Install a FINE cartridge.

    Insert a new FINE cartridge at an angle into the FINE cartridge holder.

    Install the Color FINE Cartridge in the slot on the left and the Black FINE Cartridge in the right slot.

    Attention!

    Install the FINE cartridge carefully. To avoid touching the electrical contacts on the FINE cartridge holder.

    Press down firmly on the FINE cartridge until it locks into place.

    Attention!

    Check if the FINE cartridge is installed correctly.

    Note.

    If the Alarm lamp is on or flashing after the cover is closed. Take appropriate action.

    • An error has occurred
  • The printer may make noise during operation.
  • Adjusting the position of the printheads.

    Note.

    • During alignment, the printer automatically cleans the printhead before printing a printhead alignment pattern. DO NOT perform other operations until the machine has cleaned the printheads.

    Replacing a cartridge in a Canon printer

    There is enough ink or toner to print a certain number of pages, and then every printer owner is faced with the need to change or refill the cartridge. Therefore, you need to know how to change cartridges in a Canon printer. And although the design of different models of printing equipment differs from each other, individual units have much in common.

    Monochrome Laser Printers

    Perhaps the easiest way to get a monochrome printer is a laser cartridge, it doesn’t even require a network connection. The main thing here is to get to the very detail. For printers with a paper tray at the bottom, lift up the top cover (often made of translucent plastic) that receives the printed pages. Then open the second one that covers the internal mechanism of the device.

When the cartridge is brought straight to the guides, it practically falls into its intended place. The final stage: press to a characteristic click, so that the contacts are in place.

    Laser Color Printers

    The location and design of cartridges depends on the technology used in a particular device. For example, the Canon i-SENSYS LBP7110Cw printer operates on the Single Pass method and includes four SEPARATE print engines. The cartridges are located one after the other in a specially designed tray. Their replacement is carried out as follows:

    • Pull towards you and lower the cover on the front wall of the device;
    • Pull the block out by the handle;
    • Get out the cartridge that needs refilling;
    • Install full.

    Important: Do not leave the cover open in the printer, remember that the drum unit may light up.

    Toner cartridge

    Canon i-SENSYS LBP7010C (7018C) color laser printers use multi-pass printing technology and, in addition to four blocks with toner, the design includes a drum cartridge, which is a drum with a cleaning system. If you open the top cover, you can only access the toner cartridges. In addition, only one of them is accessible, the rest are located deep in the device. Using the “Paper” button on the control panel. press and hold for 2 seconds. the printer is put into cartridge replacement mode. The Paper light is on and the toner light for the color of the container ready to be replaced is blinking.

    When the button is pressed once again, the cartridges move and all lights flash. Do not open the printer cover at this time. When the transfer operation is complete, one of the lights keeps blinking to indicate which toner cartridge can be removed. So each of the blocks is sequentially transferred to an accessible position. Replacement is carried out in the same way, and the cartridge of the color of the toner opposite to the designation of which the indicator flashes is installed in place. To take the printer out of this mode, press and hold the “Paper” key again for 2 seconds. In the video at the end of the article Visual instructions for removing toner cartridges from the Canon i-SENSYS LBP7010C printer.

    Drum cartridge

    The unit is also called a copy cartridge. Although its resource is 7000 pages, restoration or replacement is still required. When removing it, it is important NOT to touch the drum unit and the contacts to avoid damaging them. Store the drum cartridge only in opaque packaging and should not be exposed to direct sunlight or strong light. To get the block, you need to sequentially do the following operations:

    • Close the auxiliary tray and open the printer cover;
    • Remove the top of the multi purpose tray and remove the paper;
    • Open the front cover;
    • Lift the levers on both sides to unlock;
    • Pull the drum cartridge out by the handle.

    Inkjet Printing Technique

    Here you cannot do without turning on the device, since the cartridges are located in the parking area and are not available for removal. After pressing the ON button, you need to wait until the printer is ready for operation (indicator is on) and open the cover. The carriage moves to the cartridge replacement position.

    It should be noted that the instruction manuals for Canon devices do not recommend turning off the printer. over, on the first pages of the user manual there is a warning that when the power indicator is on or flashing, the cord cannot be disconnected. However, if you press the ON button now, the carriage will move back to the parking area. The only way to power off the printer is to unplug the power cord.

    Cartridges may have tabs that you need to push. Or the carriage is equipped with covers, which need to be raised to replace the cartridge, as in the Canon PIXMA iP2700 printer. If there is no lever, just pull the cartridge yourself and remove it from the slot. Reinstallation takes place in reverse order:
